Deciding where to study abroad can be a difficult decision. There’s so many places to go and so many different places to see!
If delicious food is an important factor in your everyday life then you’ll probably want to study in a place that has amazing food. That’s why I’ve created this helpful list of 10 places to study abroad for all of the foodies out there!
If you love Greek food and sunny days then you should probably study abroad in Greece! Greece is world famous for its delicious food, from gyros to baklava to souvlaki. When looking at the photo below you can see that the gyros in Greece look absolutely irresistible!
If you love pasta, pizza, and endless amounts of wine, Italy is the place for you! Learn the beautiful language of Italy while you take study breaks to enjoy the culture and amazing food.
Don’t forget to try their amazing Italian gelato or soft tiramisu for dessert. Maybe you can even work out going to a cooking class where you learn to make delicious handmade pasta from the best pasta makers in the world!
Study abroad in Mexico and be sure to visit Oaxaca for their world-famous food. If you love Mexican food, then you can’t go wrong with studying in Mexico! Their homemade tortillas are to die for as well as just about everything else that’s authentically Mexican.
If you love island life then Bali is the place for you! Study abroad there and learn about tourism, marketing, sustainability, or marine biology.
The food you’ll find in Bali is mostly meat and vegetable based with lots of healthy options like these delicious tropical smoothies shown below! Be sure and take the precautions before you leave to make sure you won’t get Bali belly from changing your diet while you study abroad.
Australia is a beautiful place filled with amazing foods! Australia’s surrounded by the ocean so they have several sushi options for all the fish lovers out there. They also have lots of different healthy options so if that’s important to you then Australia is a great place to study abroad.
In between studying you might find that you like to snack on their unique vegemite with toast, or you can bike to a local smoothie place to get a tasty acai bowl! They also have lots of delicious food found all throughout Sydney and Byron Bay.
Spain is famous for lots of different Spanish foods like their tasty tapas or patatas bravas (shown below). They also have lots of Mediterranean cuisine throughout the country.
This is a great place to study abroad for foodies because not only do they have delicious food, but it’s very easy to travel from Spain to other places in Europe so you can try their amazing foods as well!
If you love Thai food then Thailand is a no-brainer. Thailand is world famous for many of its amazing dishes and most of them are healthier than the things we find here in the United States!
Turks And Caicos is a group of tiny islands in the Caribbean. You might not think of studying abroad there, but if you have an interest in things like marine biology and you love island style food then this is the place for you!
Enjoy the crystal clear waters of Turks and Caicos while you enjoy fresh fish that’s caught by a local fisherman early in the morning. Turks and Caicos is a paradise where you can learn all about the ocean while enjoying the amazing food that it provides.
