Best Places To Eat Around Florida State University

Wanting to eat something healthy? Sweet? Savory? No problem. Sometimes making your own food at home just doesn’t cut it and you need to go out and order food. Or maybe you and your friends need a pre pre-game meal and don’t feel like cooking. From College Town to Tennessee Street we’ve got you covered.

1. Vale Food Co.

Vale is one of the best food places near campus if you’re looking for something healthy. It’s like Chipotle’s healthy sister. Their menu stays pretty much the same, but they do change out some of their signature veggies on a day to day basis. You definitely have to try out their sweet potato noodles, they’re incredible.

They also serve açai bowls if you need something a little sweet to get you through the day. They have a location in college town, but they also just opened one last spring on Tennessee Street. Good news is if you become a big fan of Vale they also have four other locations in Gainesville, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, and Jacksonville, FL. Both locations close to Florida State are listed below.

2. Catalina Café

Catalina’s is definitely one of my favorite places to go when I want a lighter after class meal. It’s a super chill study spot or just a low-key place to grab food with friends. They have great coffee, my personal favorite being their caramel iced latte, and even better food. They have plenty of breakfast sandwiches, lunch options, and baked goods if you just need a little pick me up. They’re a place that you need to check out. My all time favorite food item is the Breakfast BLT, it’s so good that I often get it even when its way past breakfast.

3. Centrale Pizza

One of my all time favorite places if I want to go out with friends is Centrale. Fitted with cute decor and a rustic design, its the perfect spot to dress up a little and get cute Instagram photos. And their pizza, it’s incredible. But don’t just stick to their pizza, they have other amazing options too.

It’s a very popular spot before games and before weekend affairs. They also have happy hour Monday through Friday 4-7 which makes them even better. Centrale is also a great place to visit during parents weekend. Located in College town makes Centrale a go to place that you absolutely have to try.

4. The Good Berry

The Good Berry has the best açai bowls in town. They offer unlimited toppings, which includes drizzles, it’s incredible. They also have other bases besides açai if you ever want to branch out and try something new. They have a matcha and pitaya bases, and a few others that you can mix and match.

If you bring your pup along with you they also give you a free spoonful of peanut butter for them. For the best food and a free dog treat, I highly recommend trying them out. They’re located pretty close to College Town so its definitely worth the walk from campus.

5. SoDOUGH Bakery

The best doughnuts, I repeat the best doughnuts ever! They do specialty flavors every month and constantly switch around their menu. But one thing that remains the same is their two dollar Tuesdays. That’s right, every doughnut is only two dollars. One is all you need because they’re so thick, but I always get over ambitious and get two. They just look so good I can’t help it. Don’t worry though, they taste just as good after being refrigerated. They also make for a super cute Instagram story.

6. Maple Street Biscuit Company

Need some comfort food in your life? Maple Street has got you covered. It’s also a perfect place to visit during the colder months because it has that toasty and homey feel to it.

7. Madison Social

MadSo is the perfect place to go when you want to dress up for game day, but not actually go. They make the perfect pre-game place with plenty of people and tvs that you can still watch the game and socialize without actually having to go to Doak. They’re also an extreme favorite among students because they have some of the best food so eat when you get too much of a buzz.

My personal favorite is their burger with fried avocado also known as the MadSo burger, it’s amazing. MadSo also runs monthly drink challenges that are super fun to participate in, and if you complete the challenge you win a free shirt. They also partner with a few other restaurants and bars for events for FSU and FAMU students.

8. Township

Township located right across the street from MadSo and has the same vibe during game days. However, some nights they have this dueling piano concert going that is super cool to watch. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog menu for your fur legged friend. One of my favorite things to order there, food-wise, is their cheeseburger. It’s incredible, and the best food after a long night out with friends.

9. MoMo’s

I discovered MoMo’s the first day I moved to Tally and I haven’t stopped going. Even though it may look at little grungy inside they have the best food. One slice of pizza is as big as your head, i’m not kidding. If you have a big group, don’t worry they’ve got you covered with a 30 inch pizza. It’s absolutely enormous, and trust me the boxes won’t fit in your trashcans.

They offer other things other than pizza, but with slices as big as your head, why would you even bother? If you’re looking for a cool bar to watch the game I wouldn’t really recommend MoMo’s for that, they’re a pretty chill place.

10. Uptown Café

Need a good pick me up breakfast after a long night out? Uptown has everything that you could possibly need. From your classic eggs to french toast, they have the best food to cure a hangover. You will most definitely over order because their pancakes are literally the size of your head.

You also have to try their banana bread french toast, its incredible. Uptown is also super family friendly, which is perfect if your parents are coming to visit for a weekend. I suggest going relatively early because Uptown gets super busy and parking can be an absolute pain.

11. Pancho’s

If you feel like eating Mexican, but don’t want to order Moe’s again you have to try Pancho’s. They have the best food when it comes to Mexican. They blow Moe’s out of the water. I 10/10 recommend giving it a try. They also offer 15% off the bill every Friday, and 2 for 1 margaritas all day everyday. It’s every college students dream!
