Let’s be honest, brunch is the best part of the day and what better way to brunch than in the city? Go big or go home right?! Chicago is home to some of the best, mouth-watering brunch restaurants ever from low key, homemade breakfast food to high end, rooftop brunch spots fit for royalty. Here are some of the best places to brunch in Chicago.
Located right on the beautiful Michigan Avenue, Le Pain Quotidian is a lovely french style restaurant serving breakfast and lunch as well as dinner entrees. Perfect for tea time and a rustic French country-side aesthetic, this is a great place to brunch with girlfriends. Be sure to try their toasts (especially the fig, honey, and goat cheese)!
Definitely a more upscale brunch spot, Machine on Division St. is super chic as well as delicious. What is super convenient is that one can orders “sharables” or a bunch of smaller brunch plates to share with your dates. That isn’t the best part though, Machine has, what they like to call, interactive drinks and cocktails! Try their signature caged drinks where you literally smash the sugar cage on top!
On Clark St. you will find M.Henry brunch spot! With a super homey mama’s cooking vibe, this place does not disappoint with the menu! You will find loads of versions of toasts and eggs galore! Be sure to indulge in it all!
Famously known for their french toast flight, Batter & Berries on Lincoln Ave, is the brunch spot if you are craving the sweets! You can try a sample of all of their french toast flavors which include; blueberry, strawberry, lemon and caramel. Be sure to try their amazing waffles as well!
Step into the ultimate French experience on N. Broadway at Maison Marcel! Known for the best patisserie menu, Maison Marcel is all charm as well as yum! Try their tea for two hour (2-5pm everyday) where you get a selection of Chef ’s petit fours & sandwiches which, of course, includes delicious tea! You will not want to say “au revoir” to this brunch spot!
Surf’s Up! One can definitely experience a California, beachy vibe when coming into Left Coast. You can find this little piece of summer on Wells and Franklin Street, as well as Lincoln Park, Chicago. This is the place to go to if one is looking for a healthy start to the day. They are known for their “First Wave” or breakfast options served all day ranging from avocado toasts to acai bowls. Their other specialties are smoothies which you can create yourself or select from the menu. I highly recommend their coffee, especially the LC Coco-oat latte which is made with coconut milk and oat milk creating a super smooth and creamy taste.
On N. Green St, you will find the ever so beautiful Allis. A Modern, industrial look mixed with vintage, The Allis is so great for that fancy tea aesthetic with your girls. You can book your afternoon tea sesh 2:30pm – 5pm on weekdays and 1:30pm – 6pm Saturday and Sunday. Brunch is only served there on weekends until 4pm! They have lots of yummy baked goods and house pressed juice mixes; be sure to order a special drink along with your eats!
The 3 Arts Club Cafe is part of a building called the Restoration Hardware. The place is considered to be divided into three sections; the cafe, espresso bar, and wine vault all of which guests could enjoy! The cafe has a delicious menu inspired by Northern California and Mediterranean cuisine and one can feast in the beautiful Grand Courtyard, which is a light-filled floor with a fountain and olive trees! 3 Arts also has an espresso bar where one can get drinks/coffee and fresh pastries. There is also a wine vault where one can relax in leather chairs sipping on the fanciest wines!
Beatnik is a truly unique place to brunch in the city! It has colorful inspiration from the globetrotting Beat Generation of the 1950s and ’60s and is named after the bohemian hipsters who were involved in this. Beatnik is an interesting mix of mismatched furniture, loads of antiques from all over the world and a tropical vibe with lots of greenery inside! It is very pleasing to the eye and the food/drinks are just as artistic!
