10 Best Online Boutiques for Sustainable Dorm Decor

We’re all trying to make a difference in any small way we can. When it comes to sustainability, there are many little ways to help the earth.

Sustainable fashion has recently become more trendy, but sustainable home decor has yet to reach the same level of popularity. However, there are still some ‘green’ boutiques offering home and dorm decor that are making small efforts to improve their business practices and become more eco-friendly.

Here are a few online stores where you can find some sustainable dorm decor!

1. Fernish

Fernish is unique: it lets you rent furniture or decor rather than outright buying it. This is great for two reasons: it’s a sustainable business practice since it creates less waste, and it’s perfect if you live in a dorm! Dorm life is only temporary, so you may not be willing to commit to new furniture or decor, especially if it’s on the pricier side.

At Fernish, you can get lamps for as little as $3 a month and accent pillows for as little a $4. Fernish will also deliver, assemble, and arrange anything you buy! At the end of your rental period, if you decide you like the item you have been renting, all you have to do is pay the difference (between what you have already paid and the value of the item) and you can keep it! Or, if you decide to send it back when you’re moving out of your dorm, Fernish will come to pick it up cost-free.
