Based loosely upon the story of the Supremes and in the world of 1960s and 1970s Motown, Dreamgirls follows a group called the Dreamettes, the members of the group and their rise to stardom.

8.  La La Land (2016)

A modern movie musical, perfect for every music lover. Struggling to make it in Los Angeles, La La Land follows jazz musician Sebastian and actress Mia fall in love, have their career take off and struggle with their relationship. La La Land won the Academy Award for best actress, best original music score, best original song, best director and more – will that get you watching this movie?
