The 10 Best Moments From This Years MTV Movie And TV Awards
This years edition of the MTV Movie And TV Awards were broadcast live from sunny Santa Monica in California and viewers were treated to an array of appearances from the hottest celebs in Movie and TV as well as some performances from the best music has to offer right now. I have put together a list of my best moments MTV let us see from the glamours event!
1. A Performance From Lizzo!
Easily the hottest pop princess on the planet right now! This performance was easily one of the highlights of the whole evening for me. 2019 is the year of Lizzo, her album is amazing and contains hit after hit and the songstress’ live show does not fail to entertain! With a Sister Act 2 twist, you were able to be treated to an array of different dancers and band on stage rocking out with the diva as well as Lizzo herself showcasing her skills on the flute whilst performing her smash hit single, Juice.

2. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson receives the Generation Award
This iconic wrestler turned Hollywood actor was honoured with the Generation Awards at this year’s ceremony as it was easily of the best moments MTV gave us from this year’s show! Making his entrance onto the stage with a soundtrack of ‘We Will Rock You’ by the band Queen, the hunky giant made a speech that touched on his career over the years and how he became to be the iconic star that he is today and confirmed why he deserved the prestigious accolade!
3. Jada Pinkett Smith is rewarded with the Trailblazer Award
One of the best moments MTV gave us from this years edition of the awards ceremony was definitely Jada Pinkett Smith receiving the Trailblazer Award! She was honoured with the award for all of her work across various different projects and ventures in the world of showbiz dating back to the 1980s and she looked absolutely stunning and humble throughout her acceptance speech!
4. Shallow from ‘A Star Is Born’ Wins Best Musical Moment
The first appearances from Lady Gaga in this list of best moments from the MTV Movie and TV Awards are her and Bradley Cooper bringing home the trophy for the ‘Best Musical Moment’ for their amazing duet ‘Shallow’ from the astounding and breathtaking film ‘A Star Is Born’. Gaga has always been a notable icon and this was probably one of her shining and best moments MTV has given her. Since it’s release, the song has had worldwide fame and success and even won Gaga her first Academy Award earlier this year! Unfortunately, the stars of the film were unable to accept the award in person.
5. A Musical performance by Bazzi!
Another highlight from the show was definitely the performance by Bazzi! Singing his single ‘Paradise’ he received a warm welcome and response from the audience at the ceremony. He was a replacement for Macklemore who had to pull out earlier on in the month but his replacement was just as good and really got the crowd moving with his amazing vocals and catchy beat and melody! Easily one of the best moments MTV so thank you!

6. Avengers: End Game wins Best Movie
Arguably the biggest award of the entire night, Best Movie was won by Avengers End Game which has sent the world superhero crazy! Even months after it’s release, people are flocking to movie theatres and buying the DVDs and Blu rays so it is clear to see why this film was selected to win!
7. Game of Thrones takes away the award for Best TV Show!
You have been living under a rock if you haven’t seen any of the Game Of Thrones Mania that has been sweeping the whole world recently. I feel like everyone I know watches and idolizes the show, books and it’s characters so it is no surprise that this show was selected to win one of the other biggest trophies of the night which is Best TV Show!
8. Sandra Bullocks accepts the award for Most Frightened Performance!
In one of her most poignant and amazing performances, Sandra Bullock blew people away in Netflix movie ‘Bird Box’ earlier on this year. The film was truly terrifying and her performance was stellar! So one of the greatest moments from this years show for me had to be when they honoured Sandra with the award for the Most Frightened Performance!
9. The Avengers Franchise is the biggest winner of the entire evening!
It won the biggest award of the evening (look above) but this Huge Movie franchise has even more than just that to celebrate! The Avengers End Game film took home the most awards of the whole evening! With 3 in total, they won Best Movie, Best Villain (Josh Brolin) and Best Hero (Robert Downey Jr)
10. Lady Gaga wins Best Performance in a Movie!
Another appearance from Gaga! The multi-talented performer was honoured with the award for the best performance in a movie for her role as Ally in the film ‘A Star Is Born’ which has created so much more success for her career. The role was perfect for her and if you have seen the movie, then you’ll know this award was very well deserved!
