Opening in 2009, the Fremont Brewing Company is in the center of the beer community. Although it can be crowded at times, it’s worth the trip to try some of the tried and true ales as well as their great seasonal selections. The Fremont Brewing Co. also continues to use organic (when possible) and local ingredients, which makes our PNW hearts happy.
Rueben’s Brew is a family owned company down in Ballard that is no stranger to producing some of the best brews around, and they have awards to show for it. Since they opened in 2012, this well known brewery has an impressive 24 brews on tap. No worries though, they have a great sampler for the indecisive.
A small but happenin’ brewery with a bare to the bone atmosphere. Down in Belltown, this little operation has impressive results inspired by the seasons and produce form Pikes Place Market. And whoever is naming these brews has found their true calling in life. The Godfather of micro brewing, The Pike Brewing Company opened its doors in 1989. Paying tribute to classic English brews, Pikes Brewing also dabbles in creative new brews and has expanded to a restaurant, Tankard and Tun. Next time you are wandering through Pikes Place Market, make sure to drop in and grab a glass.
Standard Brewing is taking advantage of the local hops and have delivered some great brews. They have done some interesting things using barrels, fruit, and aging their creation (like wine?!) and the results willing have you returning for more! Ghost fish is notorious for its use of millet, brown rice, and buckwheat; this makes their beer gluten free! Don’t worry though, unlike many other gluten free things, this beer is tasty. The company also vows to use Northwest grown hops and local ingredients.
