Halloween is on the rise and what better way to spend it then to cuddle up at home and watch a horror movie with your friends and family. This is the perfect time to enjoy some quality film while also screaming your head off. That’s why we’ve decided to gather the best horror movies to watch this Halloween.

Hereditary (2018)

If you’re looking for a film to scare the living daylights out of you, hereditary is the one. This filmed has been described to be an ‘Exorcist’ for this generation. It follows troubled artist Annie Graham who specialises in miniature and lives with her husband and her son. This is a film that plays games with your mind and has you coming out feeling terrified.

The Nun (2018)

This film has left every one of 2018 in anticipation and probably for good reason. It is an American gothic supernatural horror movie directed by Corin Hardy. It is set in 1952 Romania and is about a Catholic priest and a novice who are sent to investigate the suicide of a nun at the Cârța Monastery.

IT (2017)

This movie came out last year but is good to put on a year later if you’re looking for a movie that will make you feel like a scared kid. Literally. This one is about Pennywise the Dancing Clown who also terrorises children.

The Conjuring (2013)

This American supernatural horror movie set in 1971 is about a married couple and their five daughters who move into a new house and begin to notice some strange paranormal events.

This Australian horror film gives a whole new meaning to the word supernatural. This film gained a lot of success in America and Europe after it was released in 2014. Amelia Vanik is a widow who has raised her six-year-old son on her own. After reading a popup story called Mister Babadook to her son, strange things begin to occur.

Orphan (2009)

If you’re looking for a horror movie with a shocking plot twist, make sure to watch Orphan this coming Halloween. This psychological horror really shows you that you can’t trust everyone and also, that anything is possible. The film follows a family who chooses to adopt a young girl from an orphanage.
