I have this insane love and hate relationship with my curls. They look great on the first day, and then I don’t know what or where it goes wrong, but man, when it’s right, it’s right. Anyone with curls knows to tell you that you can’t go washing your hair so often. Most of them would give you a 3-page list of what works for their hair and how to apply it. With that being in mind, anyone with curls is probably looking for the best hair products that won’t leave their hair feeling sticky or crunchy on the second day. With that being said, here are ten best hair products that I love to bring out my natural curls!
This product is the number one product most people tend to use, and for good reasons! What’s perfect about this product is that people with wavy hair can use it too! There is absolutely no crunch to it, and it’s moisturizing! So, you’ll have a beautiful hold the next few days – and I’m not mad at the smell either!
This hair product is a total lifesaver! It’s fantastic, and it is a curl refresher. I usually use this product the day I need to wash my hair. All you have to do is dampen your hair a little and spray it! It does leave it a little sticky and crunchy, but the way the curls come out beautifully, you won’t mind at all, especially since you’ll most likely be washing it that same day!
Shea Moisture did a great job in fixing their products! Had I been writing this list five years ago, this hair product definitely would not have been on the list! However, it has been great since they’ve fixed it! It gives the hair these beautiful, soft waves, and it moisturizes your curls even if it’s been damaged by chemicals or heat! I love using this product overnight. Once I wash my hair, and it becomes damp, then I’ll shape my curls with this product. Then I don’t touch my hair. I’m telling you now if you always touch your hair, it won’t come out the way you want it to!
Miss Jessie has done it again, this is the perfect wash and go hair product! It can tame your frizz and allow your mane to curl freely. I usually use this product in the summer – hence the wash and go. Having an old-timey mom yelling that I’ll die if I go out in wet hair during the winter has kind of made me not wash my hair in the daytime. However, in the summer, when I do wash my hair, I love having the freedom of putting this on my damp hair and knowing I’ll look great throughout the day!
The only problem I have with this brand is that you have to find the perfect amount for your hair type and thickness. The more hair and curls you have, the more product you’ll have to use, and the less you have, the less product. You kind of have to find your middle ground. I don’t think anyone with super tight coils would benefit from this product. However, anyone with loose curls or wavy hair this would be your safest and best bet!
The versatility of this hair product is great! I love that I can use this as soon as after I showered, or I can wait until my hair is damp. You just have to find what works for your hair in this case. It helps define hair types between wavy-curly to tight coils. Whatever way you decide to use this product at least it won’t leave flakes like most gels, it doesn’t make your hair greasy, and there isn’t this insane amount of stickiness that you have to worry about.
You didn’t think I wouldn’t add a drugstore item on this list? This serum is a total staple when it comes to a near-perfect hair product. If you are looking for an excellent moisturizer for your hair without weighing your hair down, then this is the product for you! It also works on either dry or damp hair (I use it on damp hair). Section your hair and warm up two to three pumps in hair by rubbing your hands together and then rake through your hair with your fingers.
This may be a little pricey, but a little goes a long way with this product. I mean it, too much of this hair product can leave you feeling like you piled on grease. This product does come out as a crème, but it does feel and look more like a mousse. I find when I warm up the product on my fingertips, it works a lot better (think of a hot oil treatment) than just putting it on dampened hair.
Okay, I’ve gone ahead and given you a list of great products to use after your shower that’ll leave your curls bouncy and prideful for at least a couple of days. However, between washes, hair products, and possibly even your shampoo and conditioner, it can leave a nasty build up. I don’t personally feel my build-up, but trust me, it’s there.
This is why Briogeo Scalp Revival is the best hair product to own. Besides being a scalp scrub, it also is combined with shampoo. This is safe for all hair types, but this is exceptionally safe for people who are concerned about what the scrub can do for their curls or tend to have dandruff!
To properly use this, bring hair clips in the shower with you and section off your hair. Trust me; you won’t know where you’re applying the product if you don’t section off your hair.
Oh, Argan oil, is there anything you can’t do? If there is, I don’t want to know. I use Argan oil primarily on my entire body. Lotions, face oils, masks, and even my co-washes.
To anyone who doesn’t know what co-washing is, it’s when you skip using shampoo and rely on the conditioner. Because my hair does tend to retain oils a little, I don’t use this method as much. The week I use my scalp scrub shampoo I don’t condition because I’m trying to remove the excess build-up. That being said, the week after, when I wash my hair, I use this hair product to hydrate my hair, and it does that and more. My curls feel so refreshed and new that I feel almost a little bad putting in my products.
Here are the ten hair products I recommend anyone with curly hair to use to bring out your natural curls. Did it work for you? Do you have a specific brand you enjoy? Let me know in the comments!
