10 Best Getaway Trips You Can Do In Your Town With Your BF

Even though it’s hard to travel right now, it does not mean you shouldn’t take any trips. Below we have curated a list of things to do that feel like a vacation but are still close to home. Everyone needs to spoil themselves, especially during times like these. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to one of these 10 awesome “getaway” trips.

1. Hotel Staycation

You can still go and stay at a hotel even though you aren’t leaving the state. Spend a little time on google a place that is perfect for you. Even though you’re still in your city, you can still pamper yourself.

Pro Tip: Try finding a place outside of your usual stomping grounds. Drive 40 minutes or more out of the way. The possibilities are endless! Just because you can’t fly anywhere doesn’t mean you can’t travel.

Hotels have put in place proper protocols as a result of the pandemic. So if you’re worried about your health and safety, know that these businesses must be up to code. And of course, always take your own precaution. When you’re walking through a hotel, wear a mask. Sanitize when necessary and stay six feet a part from everyone other than the person you are with.

2. Camping or Glamping

Take a camping trip! Sounds so simple right? It actually takes a lot of work and would be an awesome growing experience for you and your significant other. You never know someone’s true colors until they have to pitch a tent! Allow yourself to unplug and be one with the outdoors. Because the world these days can be so hectic and scary, it can be beneficial to go off the beaten path.

If you aren’t fond of “roughing it,” then try glamping out. Glamping is “glamorous camping.” It has become pretty popular over the last few years. You never know where your city may have it! If you can’t find any glamping options around your town, make one of your own! See the photo below for an example, it’s a lot easier than it looks. It’s basically and outdoor fort. What can be better?

3. Outdoor Movie

Even though this looks complicated, it’s much easier than you may think. Put it all together, and you have your own screen! All you need is a sheet, some clothespin, and a clothesline. As for projectors, there are so many DIY tutorials online that show you how to make them out of cardboard.

If you have a wall around that’s light and flat enough, all you have to do is use a projector. This may take a little extra effort, but it’s worth it in the end. You can even reuse it again and again. Take out some twinkle lights, cushions, blankets, and your favorite snack. You can create a fairytale escape in the comfort of your own home.

4. Ice Cream Tour

You know all of those ice cream places that you’ve meant to try but haven’t gotten around to it? To get rid of that problem, plan an ice cream tour! Make a list of all of the places you’ve been dying to try and check them off one by one. If you get full, take some home for later.

This can be a fun and unforgettable road trip you and your significant other with cherish for years to come. Nothing brings people together more than melty ice cream and quality time.

5. Best Pizza Tour

Just like the ice cream tour mentioned above, try it with pizza! You know you always hear of that excellent new pizza place but never get around to try it. We know getting a full pie at every stop may seem like a lot. Try to ask if they serve pizza by the slice.

If not, keep the leftovers later in the week. Freeze the pie and stick it in the over later. What better than to have extra pizza lying around when you’ve inevitably stuck home again during the pandemic?

6. Become a Tourist in Your Own City.

Every city has famous landmarks that out-of-towners visit. Why not spend the day seeing what it’s all about. We all know that there are famous places in your city that you’ve never visited. Step outside your comfort zone and explore places you’ve never been before.

Take the road less traveled and go to the town over. Check out the popular stomping grounds there. You never know what amazing place and discovery you can stumble on.

7. Nature Trip

The world is crazy right now and sometimes it may feel overwhelming. If this sounds familiar, then maybe it’s time to become one with nature. Find a place that allows you to unplug and focus on the simpler things in life. Maybe go up into the mountains where you can hike all day. Go to the beach and spend the day by the ocean, soaking up the sun. If it’s winter, take a ski trip. Don’t know how to ski? It’s okay to just spend the time by the fire enjoying your partner’s company. Like many of the options on this list, the possibilities are endless.

8. Fort Staycation

If you’re immunocompromised or you just don’t feel comfortable leaving the house, change up the look of your surroundings. Take a few blankets and pillows and make a pillow fort. Pop some popcorn, buy your favorite candy, and make a movie night out of it.

There’s nothing better than snuggling up with your partner in a cozy environment. You can make a fort whenever you want. Whether it be for breakfast, brunch, dinner, or even for an entire day to be lazy and unwind, a fort is always a good option/

9. Spa Day

A simple google search will pull up the best spa options in your area. Take a day and treat yourself. Couple massages are always a good way to feel closer to one another. Not only are you feeling relaxed, but you two can share a calming and intimate moment with one another. Allow yourself to unwind and let people take care of you.

10. Spontaneous Road Trip

Just because it’s hard to travel now doesn’t mean you shouldn’t hope in your car and take a road trip. Check with some friends and see if it’s okay if you stay with them for a weekend. Maybe visit family you haven’t seen in a while. Now more than ever is the time to get up and go. Spending the time with your partner on the open road, listening to music, and taking in the views will be a bonding experience you two will never forget.
