Finding football food that can feed the entire family can seem pretty daunting for any first-time party hosts, especially when it comes to the food. Trying to make sure you have enough food for everyone, but also wanting to make sure that everyone will eat that food can give you anxiety. Have no fear, for we have assembled a list of some of the best options for your Super Bowl Sunday meal to score big with your guests. Without further ado, here is our list of the
This one seems obvious so I am putting it first. Call your favorite local wing spot and order a whole bunch for you and the gang. Pro-tip though, order ahead on Super Bowl Sunday. A lot of restaurants will be slammed with orders that day, and if you order late you might get stuck with low-quality wings or none at all.
Pizza is the best option for football food. We all know everyone will eat pizza, so order a few from your favorite pizza place. If it’s just your family you can get whatever pizza you guys usually get, but if it’s for friends or coworkers you should stick to pepperoni and cheese. Everyone will eat pepperoni and cheese pizza, including kids, which makes this one technically the best option for feeding everyone. The very best part of the pizza route is the football pizza deals, so keep an eye out to get the best deal possible!
I was a stranger to the concept of football chili, but I got to say that just one Super Bowl Sunday with chili made me a believer. It goes without saying that the proper chili recipe could feed a small army, so whip up a batch for the entire party. We have a special secret family recipe for our chili, but you can get a great football chili recipe with a Google search. Try it yourself and become a believer.
Here is a great one for the person who loves to grill out. Get some slider patties and set up the grill because everyone is bound to eat these football sliders. It does not matter if you are cooking for 2 or 22, sliders are a budget-friendly way to impress everyone. If you have a hibachi grill, cover the pan in oil and onions. Then cook your meat on top of the onions until evenly cooked. Add a toasted bun for maximum flavor and you will have everyone literally eating out of your hands.
Meatballs in a crockpot on Sunday almost feels like a necessity. In fact, I am willing to be most of the football parties you attended have had meatballs. Why would they not? A great budget food that will more than likely still have leftovers well into the fourth quarter. Everyone will keep picking at them until they are gone, so be sure to add this one to the shopping list.
Another classic that mostly everyone will eat is tacos. Do a great taco bar with all the fixings. Cheese, sour cream, lettuce, and every other weapon in a tacos tool belt. You can also steal a quick and simple recipe from Pinterest for your favorite kind of taco. Personally, I love my mom’s chicken tacos with the addition of every item on the taco bar. This one is a great one that you might not think about at first, but will be glad you decided to try out.
I can understand not wanting to make a big exquisite dinner because you might not have the time or money. (Personally, I am not doing it because I am lazy.) Well, a great way to save cash but make sure everyone has some food is with the appetizer dinner! Make two or three of your favorite appetizers and get a few bottles of soda, and kablam, you already have better football food than half of the other parties. You can make some buffalo chicken dip, a cheese ball, and some pigs in a blanket. You can also stop by a grocery store and get a cheese tray and some chips. Simpler really is sometimes better, so when it doubt, go the cheap route!
One thing you might want to have on deck is some dessert. Don’t even think I am saying to go all out either, just put out a nice variety pie or lay out some brownies. Everyone will have a slight sweet tooth after bashing your cooking, so hook them up with a lil’ something sweet. This is also great for anyone who likes baking, or even couples. Imagine that playful argument between you and your partner about which will be better, your dinner cooking, or their dessert cooking. I say you challenge your significant other to a cook-off, but do not go easy on them. (The picture is a neat football pie)
I know this is supposed a list of football food, but who cares nerd? The most important part of any meal is beer! Beer pairs greatly with burgers, wings, and literally any food so just buy the beer already. Personally, if I showed up and there was not much food, but a fridge packed with beer, I would stay. This is also a great tip for anyone who has never had people over for the game. Keep the alcohol stocked and everyone will be happy.
