Best Food Hacks While Living In A Sorority House

Living in the sorority house can be one of the best experiences during your college career. However, the food is very different from your dorm experience. In the dining halls, you can eat as much as you want. That’s not the case in the sorority house. Here are the best food hacks while living in your sorority house.

Become Friends with Your Chef

In general, it’s a good tip to be nice to everyone. But you are going to want to be especially nice to the chef in your sorority house. Learn their names. Say “hi” when you see them. Ask them how their day is going. You never know when you aren’t going to like the food they serve that day and it will be a lot easier to ask them to make you something else if you are friends with them.

Submit Food Requests

Craving macaroni and cheese that your parents always made at home? Request it! In your house, there will be a place where you can request certain meals. The chefs are always happy to be making food that they know the girls want and are going to enjoy. If you want something, odds are one of your sisters does too. If your request gets made, you are going to be really happy that you suggested it.

Make Sure to Get to Dinner on Time

If dinner starts at five, get there at five. If you come in late, not all the food is still going to be there. It is not going to be fun when you see that there are no more mashed potatoes left and you didn’t get any because you were late. Also, if you get to dinner late, the food is going to be cold and everyone knows that when your microwave food, it doesn’t taste the same as fresh out of the oven. Another plus, if you get to dinner on time, you are going to be able to get a better seat!

Make Yourself “Late Plates”

It is always a good idea to make a late plate. That just means getting a to-go-box and putting some leftovers in it to save for later. You never know when you might be coming home late and wanting something to eat. You are going to thank yourself later if you make a late plate.

Always Take Free Food

When living in the house you are only given meals at a certain time and only a certain amount of times per day. That means that there are going to be times when you are hungry and there is no one to make you food. If one of your sisters lets everyone know that there are free snacks in the dining room, be sure to take advantage of it.

Bring Snacks That Don’t Need to Be Refrigerated

For starters, it’s always nice to not have to go into the kitchen when you want a snack. But also, it is good to have snacks in your room because no one can take them. When you leave snacks or leftovers in the fridge, there is a good chance that one of your hungry sisters might just take them.

These food hacks are very important when living in a sorority house because you never know when you are going to be hungry. College girls can be up late studying, going to frats, or just hanging out with your sisters. You just might need some of these food hacks when you are up late and need something to eat.
