10 Best Face Masks For Redness

Face masks for redness can reduce the appearance of acne, scarring, or any other inflammation. Let’s face it, nobody likes redness or acne on their face. It can be challenging to find a product that works well with your skin type. Good news, we’ve got 10 face masks to help conquer it!

1. Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Soothing Face Mask

Whether your concern is redness due to acne, or redness due to irritation/inflammation, this face mask will work to combat your biggest concerns. Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins has created a formula combined with sea buckthorn and superfoods, to hydrate and soothe irritated and inflamed skin. This face mask is the most gentle without any harsh fragrance or dyes, and Origins brand products are natural and vegan. Personally, I have struggled with acne and redness for years, and nothing soothes my skin the way Origins products do. A lot of skincare brands on the market advertise that they’ll clear up your skin overnight. (I wish!) What other competitors likely use is salicylic acid, a harsh acne treatment that can sometimes make your skin worse. Relax and rejuvenate with this skincare formula! For best results, apply to clean skin and leave for 10-20 minutes.

2. Aveda Botanical Kinetics – Intense Hydrating Masque

Similar to Origins, the brand Aveda offers natural and soothing results that is compatible with any skin type. Aimed at targeting redness, the Aveda face mask provides soothing hydration while restoring the skin’s texture. A lot of redness can be caused by external factors such as dryness, dirt, oil, stress, or hormonal changes. Regardless, using a mask 1-2 per week is just the trick to combat these symptoms. Aveda products can range from $20.00 – $40.00, but many Aveda stores offer free introductory facials to introduce you to their line and see what works. Can’t hurt to try!

3. Origins Skin Retexturizing Mask With Rose Clay

Can you tell I love Origins? No, but really, as someone who has struggled with redness and acne for years, I wouldn’t recommend something that wasn’t worth every penny. One of the many reasons their products are so beneficial is partly because they are a vegan skincare line. None of their products are infused with harsh chemicals that can dry out your skin and make it worse. This mask, in particular, helps draw out any dirt or other toxins and gradually lessen the appearance of pores. Mixed with a plant-based product, this mask is soothing and worthwhile. Typically found at Macy’s, this product is about $28.00.

4. Mario Badescu Azulene Calming Mask

Similar to the natural, gentle formula with Origins and Aveda, Mario Badescu has a lot to offer. This face mask in particular tackles concerns with olive leaf extract and is used worldwide by talented estheticians. The key to redness is soothing: and that is exactly what this product does. For best results, it is recommended to use 2-3 times a week, for no more than 20 minutes. Find this at your local Ulta, or online for roughly $20.00.

5. Boscia MATCHA Magic Super-Antioxidant Mask

Another brand that is a go-to for any and all of us with redness, is Boscia. Based on plant ingredients, Boscia was the first in the world to offer preservative-free products tailored to sensitive skin. Meet the super antioxidant mask: works with sensitive, combination, oily, and dry skin, and helps by providing nourishment to your skin to directly tackle the things possibly contributing to redness. Absorbing any access oil, and freeing your skin from toxins, Boscia’s slogan is, “In Boscia’s world, beauty really does grow on trees.” For best results, use for 10 to 15 minutes.

6. Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Sleeping Mask

This next redness-reducing mask is meant for sleeping. Imagine going to sleep with problematic skin and waking up perfection. With this product, it is lightweight and hydrating without clogging pores. 74% of this is derived right from avocado. Avocado is a natural source of nourishment to the skin, along with several moisturizing properties. This mask is free of fragrance and dyes and is cruelty-free. Meant to be used 1-2 times per week. Get some avocado, girl!

8. FRESH Rose Face Mask

Of course, everyone’s skin is different. What may work for your friend, might not work for you, and that’s ok! This mask may seem identical to the Origins rose clay formula, but don’t be fooled, it has very different results. This formula is combined with actual rose petals, and soothing properties to even the complexion of the skin. A little bit higher than most, it is valued at $62.00 at your local Sephora. I mean, who doesn’t love the idea of having rose petals on your skin?

9. FRESH Umbrian Clay Pore Purifying Face Mask

The same brand as before, ‘Fresh’ never fails to amaze. Aims to gently cleanse and minimize the appearance of pores, its an added plus that it is also soothing to inflamed skin. It can be found at most department stores such as Sephora or Ulta, and worth every penny.
