The 10 Best Drinks At Starbucks
Sometimes you have to change up your routine. Instead of getting your usual Caramel Frappuccino with Extra Caramel, try one of these 10 drinks on your next Starbucks run!
1. Iced Peach Green Tea Lemonade
This is THE drink of the summer. As soon as temperatures start hitting the nineties this is my go to order. It’s sweet and refreshing, everything you need to combat the relentless rays of the sun. Make sure you get it sweetened! Yes it still tastes good unsweetened, but that extra sweetness gives it that extra oomf to keep you from wilting away.
2. Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino
I’m not one for frappuccinos much anymore, but one exception that I’ll make now and again is for the Mocha Cookie Crumble. Mostly its because I’m a fan of the chocolate whipped cream, which I guess you could ask them to substitute onto any other frappucino but why. It’s chocolate on chocolate on chocolate, which you would think might be too rich/sweet but that’s why you get a tall not a venti. Moderation is your friend.
3. Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew
Starbucks Cold Brew coffees have quickly become some of my favorite items on the menu. As you will probably be able to discern the further you go on this list, I’m not much of a fan of hot drinks even in the middle of winter. However, like any sane person I need that hit of caffeine in the mornings to even hope to be some sort of functioning human being. The Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew is my saving grace, the tasty pick me up I need to get me through the day.
4. Irish Cream Cold Brew
Ok, SO Starbucks Irish Cream Cold Brew. I don’t even know how to explain it, but it had me hooked from the first sip. This was one of their 2019 holiday drinks, so RIP to my soul now that it’s off menu. It was so delicious, and many people agree with me because there was like an almost TWO WEEK period where my local Starbucks was sold out, and I was just internally screaming the whole time. Here’s to hoping that thy bring it back for the 2020 holiday season!
5. Iced Coconut Milk Mocha Macchiato
Now this, THIS drink is one of my usuals but let me tell you about why it’s also the bane of my existence. It’s another seasonal drink, usually for the summer, and it’s one of the few coconut flavored things I actually enjoy (don’t @ me). If I want this delectable beverage after the summer though, I have to fully customize an Iced Caramel Macchiato and I become one of those people that would be the joke of an SNL sketch. It’s a first-world problem which I solve by ordering the cold brews instead unless the craving is too much and then I just shuffle into the store in shame with effusive thanks.
6. Iced Guava White Tea
This was a surprising new favorite out of last summer. Like any of their iced teas you can get it sweetened or unsweetened, with or without lemonade. I honestly enjoy it in any combination, which is backed up by the fact that I can never remember exactly how I order it. It’s a guessing game every time and the great thing is that I always win, and now you will too. It’s also something of a crowd favorite, at least in my circle of acquaintances. Whenever someone wants a drink but doesn’t know what to get I will offer the iced guava white tea as a suggestion. It has yet to fail me, even with some of the pickier people.
7. Iced Strawberry Green Tea
I’m a fan of the iced teas, what can I say. The iced strawberry green tea I would say sits a little heavier than either the guava or peach teas, but it’s still delicious. I would recommend to either get this one sweetened or with lemonade, but not both. If you do both than it’s too overpoweringly sweet in my opinion, so it depends on your stance on lemonade.
8. Iced Royal English Breakfast Tea Latte
This one is for you boba milk tea fans. I’m going to say right off the bat that it’s not as good as an actual boba milk tea, but it will satisfy the craving if you find yourself in an area lacking in a boba place. They won’t have the tapioca balls, but the milk tea itself is good and you can adjust the sweetness to your liking by asking for extra pumps of your preferred syrup.
9. Iced Chai Latte
If you’re looking for some extra flavor in your tea latte, than I definitely recommend the Iced Chai Latte from Starbucks. What’s especially nice about this is that you can actually buy the Starbucks chai concentrate from your local grocery store and make it for yourself at home. You just have to add the milk. This is nice because that means that extra time you would have allocated for your morning Starbucks run you can now spend in dreamland (if you’re like me anyway). Or simply continue as usual and mobile order from your local Starbucks store.
10. Iced Coffee with Milk and Caramel
One of the simplest things on this list, and yet it was something I hadn’t even considered until I went to Starbucks with a cousin of mine and she ordered it. Adding that extra caramel into some plain iced coffee was next level thinking and I can’t believe I had never thought to do that. It adds a little sweetness to counteract the bitterness of the coffee while still giving you that great coffee taste. Adding the milk is a personal choice, I can’t say I feel like it actually makes a difference but I add it out of habit at this point.
