The atmosphere of a coffee shop makes it an ideal place to get work done. For those early mornings or late night study grinds, a cup of coffee is the best way to get stuff done. Here are 10 of the best coffee shops around UNL to study at.
The Bay has to be one of the most creative spaces you could ever enjoy a nice cup of coffee, and study, in. Their goal is to provide a creative space for young adults to find their passions. To do this, they have an indoor skate park, an all-ages concert venue, and a digital art space that is coming soon. The Bay is located at 2005 Y Street, which is about 0.7 miles from the UNL city campus!
The Coffee House is located at 1324 P Street, in the middle of downtown Lincoln, only half a mile from the UNL city campus! The short walk from the Union makes it an ideal place to go study. And you can’t go wrong with ordering one of their amazing vanilla lattes!
My new found love for Cultiva is growing rapidly. Not only do they serve Instagram-worthy coffee, but they have some of the best crepes in town! Lucky for UNL students, they have a location on both the city campus and east campus. The downtown location is less than a mile from campus, at 727 S. 11th Street. And the east location can be found at 3535 Holdrege Street.
Destinations Coffee House can be found across the street from HSS, at 1345 New Hampshire Street. It was originally an auto shop, but was renovated in 2009 to become a modern day coffee house! It’s the perfect spot to study, especially for those who live on the north side of campus! They offer free wifi, parking and brewed coffee refills!
The Hub Cafe brings the word “fresh” to a whole other level. The ingredients they use come from local farmers, and they’ve also partnered with Cultiva. Their light and simple design make it the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee. You can visit the Hub Cafe at 250 N. 21st Street, which is less than a mile from the UNL campus!
Meadowlark Coffee and Espresso is only a little over a mile from campus, at 1624 South Street. What makes this coffee house stand out from the rest is that they frequently host music and art shows. The casual atmosphere makes it a very comfortable place to study.
Methods Cycle & Craft House is such a unique space to study and enjoy a cup of coffee in. The rustic style creates a warm and inviting feel for everyone that walks through their front door. You can experience it at 416 S. 11th Street, which is only half a mile from the UNL city campus.
One of the most popular coffee houses among UNL students would have to be The Mill. It’s at a great location in the Haymarket, and the best part is, it’s a great place to concentrate, no matter how busy they get throughout the day. The Mill is less than a mile from campus, at 800 P Street!
Scooter’s Coffee is one of my favorite coffee chains around. You can find many locations around Lincoln and there are two that are walking distance from the UNL campus. Downtown you can find it at 1033 O Street, and in the Haymarket you can find it at 151 N. 8th Street.
One of the most well-know coffee chains has to be Starbucks. The Starbucks located in downtown Lincoln on 3302 O Street is one my favorite places to study, and it’s only a few blocks from campus. When you get there to study, make sure you don’t forget to order one of Starbucks’ famous frappuccinos!
