It’s baseball season, Houston. Which means a lot of beer and a lot of time spent cheering for the ‘Stros. So, if you must spend many hours this season on a bar seat, here are the best bars to watch the Astros games at.
Located on Westheimer, in the Montrose area, Hay Merchant is a go-to for Houston sports watching. They have ample TVs set up throughout the bar, a large selection of beer and cocktails, and some great bar food. They also offer specials during a lot of games, if Houston is in the lead; so head over, order the PB&J chicken wings, and Go ‘Stros!
If you like that classic sports bar vibe, Christian’s Tailgate is the perfect bar for you. You’ll find all your sports bar essentials here, from Bud Light to jalapeno poppers. They were also recently voted one of the best burgers in Houston. Christian’s Tailgate has locations all over, including the Heights, Midtown, and most recently, West U.
Most Houston locals have gone to Lucky’s at one point or another. Lucky’s is a go-to for sports watching. They have tons of TVs, a fully stocked bar, food, and ample space. There are Lucky’s all over the city and the surrounding area, but the Lucky’s on St. Emanuel in Eado is probably the best. They have a huge patio and multiple rooms within the bar, so it’s good for big groups. Go for the pizza, it won’t disappoint!
Little Woodrow’s is the quintessential neighborhood bar…that happens to have locations all over the city. Little Woodrow’s is more strictly a bar than other places on this list, so the food varies from location to location and is also based on the day of the week or the event. But it’s a great place to enjoy a drink and a game. They have a great patio, and no limit on TVs, so if you’re just there for the brews and baseball, Little Woodrow’s is the place for you. These are just a few of the best bars to watch the Astros games at.
All true Astros fans know about the Killer B’s, so of course, Biggio’s Sports Bar is a must. Located in Downtown, in the Marriot Marquis, this is the perfect place to watch the game or to grab a drink before heading over to the stadium. They have plenty of TVs to watch the game, but the best part is their huge theater style viewing screen, complete with reclining leather chairs (yes, seriously!). The food is good too! Try the Yard Dog for a true baseball experience!
If you’re big on sports, but not the sports bar scene, Revelry on Richmond is the place for you. Known for their craft beer options and more upscale ambiance, Revelry is the perfect blend of high class and low key. You can find this bar in the Museum District. Go for Happy Hour and get $3 Shiner and Miller Light Drafts!
Kirby Ice House is perfect for large groups. They have an amazing outdoor area, with tons of seating options, TVs and a food truck. The inside also has plenty of seating and TVs. And don’t forget the drinks! Kirby Ice House has a fully stocked bar and multiple bar tops within it. But just a warning! This is a 23 and up bar, so some of you might have to wait a few years to make it in.
On the Kirb is a good restaurant, that also happens to have tons of TVs. Post up at the bar for optimum viewing. And they have a fully stocked bar, so sip on a beer or a mojito, whatever works for you!
Located Downtown, Bovine & Barley is a great option if you want to do some bar hopping after the game. They have a huge bar with good access to TVs and a solid food selection. Try the Cast Iron Queso, or go during Happy Hour for some B&B Poutine for $5! You don’t have to look too far to find the best bars to watch the Astros games at!
From the same people who brought you Coltivare and Revival Market, Eight Row Flint is an ice house meets a mixology bar. They have a great cocktail selection, like the Eight Row Mule, and solid upscale munchies selection, including tacos, nachos and quesadillas. Try the Roasted Brussel Sprout Tostada for something a little different!
