Philadelphia’s bar scene is hopping. There are a few bars in the city, whether right near campus or in Center City, that draw a large number of college students. 1. Pub Webb

Pub Webb is a sports bar and a live music venue that is located on Temple’s campus on Cecil B. Moore near the Liacouras Center. They offer a variety of affordable bar food and drink specials. The kitchen stays open until 1 a.m., so it is the perfect spot to take a break from your studying or after an event at the Liacouras Center. They even open early for events at the Liacouras Center and offer a variety of live music events.

2. Draught Horse

The Draught Horse is also located on Cecil B. Moore near the Liacouras Center. They are a hotspot for college students with parents visiting from out of town as well as for students who want to catch a game on TV with friends and classmates. The bar offers a variety of specials every night, especially on Wednesday nights when they have a DJ from 10-2. The cover for the DJ is $5 starting at 9:30, but if you arrive before 9, the cover is waived. You’ve got options when it comes to finding the best bars in Philadelphia for college students.

3. Blarney Stone

The Blarney Stone is a dive bar and restaurant that is located on Sansom Street on UPenn’s campus. They offer a variety of bar food and drinks, are affordable and accept all major credit cards. It’s also super easy to get to via Septa’s Market-Frankford subway line. Blarney’s is open until 2 a.m. for your late-night needs and study breaks.

City Tap House, a gastropub located in various cities, has two locations in Philadelphia: one in University City and one in Logan Square, which is located near Temple’s Center City campus. Both locations offer a variety of food and drinks, as well as brunch, happy hours, and special events. Their specialty is craft beer, making it their mission to make craft beer accessible to everyone.

5. Graffiti Bar

The Graffiti Bar is located on 13th Street near City Hall, which is within walking distance of the subway as well as Temple University’s Center City campus and several music venues. Whether you are out and about for a concert or event or have a late class, this bar is the perfect place to grab modern Asian cuisine on a college budget.
