8 Benefits of Being Quarantined

To all introverts, this is our time. Social distancing was just the beginning, now we are to stay inside our homes and have no contact with others. I am loving being quarantined.

1. Me Time

Before I was always driving around here and there trying to get to appointments, grocery stores, and other places. Now there are very few places to go to so there’s more time I can spend on myself. I am less stressed and can focus on the positive things about being quarantined. In my home, I can enjoy my own company in peace and quiet. I love my me time, I am the most refreshed that I have ever been. I am looking on the bright side of things and it seems like things are just easier for me since being quarantined.

2. Cancel Plans

I was one that loved being home whenever I could. Whenever friends and family would ask me to hang out the answer was 9/10 no but I had to get creative with how I would tell them no. The Public Health officials have taken care of that for me. Being quarantined is the best excuse to not go out or have others come over. Since this was a public announcement all I have to do is remind others of the precaution we were given. I love it.

3. Keeping Us and Others Protected

Since there is not a vaccine to cure the Coronavirus, staying away from others has been one of the precautions given. To know that the virus can transfer from one individual to another so quickly is pretty scary. Being quarantined is for the safety of ourselves so that we don’t get what others have. For those that have the Coronavirus, for them staying home protects them from spreading the virus to others. Since it can take 4-10 days for the symptoms to appear it’s best for everyone just to stay away and stay home. This is the best benefit of being quarantined.

4. More Sleep

Being quarantined has allowed me to get so much sleep. Since I don’t have too many places to go to I sleep in longer and even go to bed earlier. The extra sleep is very beneficial to me because I wake up mentally and physically restored. I am not groggy during the day. I can focus on the task at hand. I am even in a better mood and not crabby. I don’t even drink coffee or energy drinks anymore and I know that is a great benefit to my body.

5. Work Out

My workout schedule has been amazing since being quarantined. I have nothing to take me away from working out. I used to be too tired to work out because of work or other errands. Now, I work out about the same time every day and it’s only been a couple weeks but I am already seeing results. I like that I don’t have to work around the gym schedule since my workouts are done at home. I just can’t say how happy I am about being quarantine and the results are just as awesome for my work out schedule.

6. Save Money

Who doesn’t like to save money? It’s easy to do while being quarantine since pretty much everything is closed. Yes, you can still do online orders but most places have increased there shipping cost. Sad. Even though you can still have your food delivered to your home it’s not really a good idea. Some people have got the Coronavirus from food deliveries. It’s best while being quarantined to actually stay quarantined, at least as much as you can.

7. Cleaning Up

Being quarantined gives you time to complete those small tasks in your home that you were unable to complete before. You have more than enough time now to complete laundry, wash dishes, and even bath the dog. Whatever chores you do at home you actually have the time to do them. Being locked up in a clean home is a lot better than being locked up in a dirty one. A clean home not only removes clutter from your home but also removes stress from your life.

8. Family Time

Remember those other people that live in your home with you. Now you have time to hang with them. Reintroduce yourself to your family and take this time to bond with one another. Since most people complain that they don’t have enough time to spend with their family this is the perfect time to hang out and spend some quality time with each other. If you like board games, time to bring them out and play some, Monopoly, Chess, Clue, and whatever family bonding game you may have.

9. Netflix

In addition to saving money from not spending $15 on a movie ticket. You have access to hundreds of movies and shows, right at your fingertips. Being quarantined gives you unlimited access to your Netflix account. It’s perfect because you have more time to sit back and watch shows than you had before. What makes Netflix even better than the movie theaters, is that your snacks don’t cost an arm and a leg. You decide what you snack on and how much of it you will get. I love the freedom.

10. Your Pet

This is a great time to shower your pet with unconditional love. The two of you are stick in the house together, so why not? Take advantage of being quarantine and give your pet a bath, Spring Clean their cage (this means like really clean it out with bleach and other cleaning products versus how you normally clean it), hold them longer than you normally do. Our pets don’t know why we are home way more than we normally are but we can show them that they are appreciated during this time.
