Here are my favorite nail designs and the ones you should try!
Keep reading for cute Valentine’s day nails!
1) All Red Nails
This one is quite basic but I definitely suggest painting your nails red if you are a beginner, or if you are simply a simple person. There are many options of red and you can even paint each fingernail another shade of red—going from light to dark or vice-versa. If you want you can pain them now too since they also work for Christmas style nails.
Red is a cute color and the color of love-perfect for Valentine’s day.

2) Initialed Nails
This may be a super cheesy idea, but if you are in a loving relationship and desire to show your significant other how much you love them, without doing something as drastic as getting their name tattooed on you, then you can paint their initials on their nail. It would be a cute way to show them that you are thinking of them for Valentine’s day!
If you do not like this idea then maybe you could try painting your significant other’s face on your nail— this may require a professional nail technician but it would be a very cute touch. Make sure that this won’t scare your lover away but show them that you love them! It is a great way to show love—especially on Valentine’s day!

3) Heart Nails
The ideograph heart is a symbol of affection and romantic love for its cute shape. The symmetric aesthetic symbol has been used on Valentine’s Day cards, candy boxes, and similar popular culture artifacts. On Valentine’s Day, it’s also a good idea to make a heart on your nails. This may be a typical idea but it is a must—getting your nails done and adding some hearts on top to make it look like they are made for Valentine’s day!
“Each time you love, love as deeply as if it were forever.” —Audre Lorde
4) Quote Nails
Dr. Seuss
You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.
You obviously cannot get this whole quote painted on your cute Valentine’s day nails but you could definitely have a few words on each hand—love, friends, peace, heart, red.
I like this idea because it is a unique way to show someone that you love them but also that you love Valentine’s day! Not many people do this as they prefer to stick with simpler ideas but you should definitely give it a try.
“Most people are slow to champion love because they fear the transformation it brings into their lives. And make no mistake about it: love does take over and transform the schemes and operations of our egos in a very mighty way.” —Aberjhani
6) Polka Dot Nails
This is again a basic idea but you can do as much or as little as you want. You can add glitter in the color of your choice but you can also make the polka dots any other color—from pink to red to black and gold.
I would suggest using tools to make sure that the circles are perfect and look good. Inside the dot, you can even draw a heart to spice up the entire nail look. You should try using loose glitter on the tips too if you really want to go all out.
“A kiss is a lovely trick designed by nature to stop speech when words become superfluous.” —Ingrid Bergman
7) Cartoon Nails
For the next Valentine’s day nail look, I suggest trying a cartoon look. This would require a professional or extremely advanced nail technician. You can get your favorite couple painted on your nails! Some people have used cartoon characters like Phineas and Ferb (because Valentine’s day celebrates friendship as well). It is a unique idea but maybe really expensive, so consider other options if you’re not a huge passion for nails.
This is so unique and I really hope some of you try it out and share it with us!
“And I’d choose you; in a hundred lifetimes, in a hundred worlds, in any version of reality, I’d find you and I’d choose you.” —The Chaos of Stars
8) ECG Style Nails
This is the medical part of me coming out—clearly. So this is simple, we’re going to end with a simple idea for you to do for Valentine’s day. Start off by painting your nails a solid color and then with a thin brush draw the line of an ECG. This is the heartbeat of the heart and definitely adds a unique piece to your nails. You could do this on every nail or just one, depending on how difficult it is for you.
“When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.” – Paulo Coelho
Valentine’s Day Nails are super cute and I wish that I was a professional nail tech so I could do a different look every single day! These ideas go with all outfits and if you really are in Valentine’s day mood then you could dress in all red and do your makeup in that theme as well. If you like that idea and are quite a festive person then I would recommend buying fake nails to practice on. Remember it is harder to paint your nails if they are short, so practice makes perfect!

Hi everyone! My name is Sheloma - a name my father made up. “She” because I was a girl and the rest inspired by the meaning of peace in Jewish (Shalom). According to ancestry.com, I am Greek, French, Italian, Romanian, and Asian but conforming to my education and the way I was brought up, I am 100 percent Romanian. I am 18 years old, born in March, and definitely a Pisces. My birthday is on the day we celebrate women internationally. I was born in Singapore, moved to France after one year, then to Qatar where I attended a British school. Which is why I say “petrol” instead of “gas” and “mum” instead of “mom”. After that, we moved to France where I studied at an International School, needless to say, that these were some of the best years of my life. I now live and go to school in Houston. Though I have an ENTJ personality, the “chief” personality I feel like an introvert. I like learning about religions and honoring all the gods as well as myself and the universe. Yoga is my higher power and my spirituality. I am a fitness/health enthusiast. I love training and working out in many different ways. Lifting weights is my favorite but I also enjoy, running, boxing and swimming. Traveling is my oxygen and if you know me, you know I’m not exaggerating. I love going to places and merging the cultures with my own, interacting with people, and the environment.
