9 Beautiful Stand Alone Mirrors For Your First Apartment

I remember often going over to visit my grandparent’s house when I was a kid. Lucky for me, they didn’t live that far from my immediate family. So, I usually got to spend a lot of time with my grandma and grandpa. One of my favorite things about their house in particular, was this huge room they had upstairs that we had all lovingly nicknamed the bowling alley room. Aside from the living room, it was a perfect playroom for the grandkids. Naturally, I loved playing with certain toys up in this room, and reading all the children’s books my grandparents kept up there. But there was this beautiful stand alone mirror in the corner of the room that I had a strange fascination with. The mirror itself was quite old-fashioned, and was made of wood; I’m not sure as to what kind. I would love to play dress up as a child, and admire myself in this mirror over the ridiculous outfit I’d be wearing. When my grandparents put the house up for sale to move into a high-end retirement community, they had to divide up everything between their four children. I was so glad when I asked my mom if anyone had wanted that stand alone mirror, and she said no one had. So, naturally I laid my claim to that mirror as it was special and meant something to me. I knew one day when I moved into my first apartment, that I would proudly display that mirror in one of the bedrooms. I did just that when my husband and I moved into our first apartment. It may have clashed a bit with the interior, but through my eyes, it was perfect. If you’re looking to move into your first apartment, here are nine beautiful stand alone mirrors to help spruce up your new home.

1. Antique Silver

I actually love the way that this stand alone mirror from Wayfair looks! The details at the top of the frame are simply gorgeous, and I like how that same detail continues on into each corner of the frame. It’s truly quite the ornate design. I had to chuckle to myself a bit over how accurate the description of this mirror is on Wayfair’s website; it actually does look like a crown at the top of the frame! This stand alone mirror is also easily transportable, and even easier to set up anywhere you desire in your apartment home. If you have a taste for the finer things in life, then this elegant mirror is definitely for you!

Even though I’m not the biggest fan of the modern look, I don’t mind this stand alone mirror from Amazon all that much. It’s a very clean and symmetrical look; which some people truly enjoy. One of the cool features on this mirror, is that it has an integrated clothing rack, along with a small accessory tray that is perfect for items like jewelry and watches. If your closet size in your apartment is smaller than you would’ve hoped for, this mirror offers extra space for clothing that you can easily hang up behind the mirror. This is one versatile stand alone mirror that you don’t want to pass up on!

I definitely fell in love with the detail on this stand alone mirror from Home Depot when I first saw it. It reminds me of small vines that are winding this way and that up the frame. Simply put, the design of this mirror is gorgeous, and I love how they perfectly blended contemporary and antique styles together. Plus, I like how they added the curved feet at the bottom of the mirror; it truly adds to the overall look. I can honestly say that this mirror will add a touch of beauty to even the most drab-looking apartments.

7. Farmhouse Wood

I can honestly say that this mirror is quite similar to the one that I adopted from my grandparents, especially in the way that the frame looks. I do love that this stand alone mirror from Wayfair is a lighter color of wood! It also has a very sturdy base due to the whole thing being made of solid wood. There will be no accidentally knocking over this mirror! But also beware, because it might be a bit heavier to move. This stand alone mirror is the perfect addition to your apartment if you prefer more of a country look.

I actually really love this stand alone mirror from Amazon, even though it’s very modern-looking! I’ve always found folding mirrors to be a cool and unique addition to homes, and I feel like you don’t see a whole lot of them outside of department stores. The design on this mirror is very simple, and I like how the folding side mirrors are smaller than the main mirror. This mirror is also on the lighter side, and is super easy to store if you should ever need to make more room for guests. How could you turn down such a beautiful product?

I love this ivory mirror from Home Depot that also doubles as a jewelry stand behind the mirror! I find it unique that the mirror also slides open to reveal the shelves, along with some mounted hooks that are perfect for necklaces, bracelets and anything else you desire to store there. The mirror itself isn’t overly fancy, but will work quite well with most types of furniture. This is a two-in-one mirror that you simply must have!
