Back To The Bars: What Your Quarantine Drink Of Choice Says About You

Coronavirus had everyone going stir crazy locked up in the house. With the bars shutting down, it was hard for many people to cope. America is a country where people enjoy their alcohol. Americans drink to celebrate every event and drink just because there is nothing better to do. This country knows how to have a good time. Even during the darkest of times through the midst of the global pandemic, Americans stayed true to our character and continued to drink. On the bright side, bars now are back up and running, so no more quarantine drinks. Quarantine brought out an interesting side of people. Here is what your quarantine drink of choice says about you as an individual.

1. Corona

There are a very select few types of people who continued to drink Coronas during the global pandemic. If your quarantine drink of choice was a corona you clearly understood that there was no direct correlation between the alcoholic drink and the virus. Covid-19 was a huge publicity scandal for the alcoholic drink. However, several people still supported the brand through it all. Faithful as ever. If you were one of the few who continued to drink Coronas, there is a good chance you threw a Corona quarantine party. At this party, only Coronas were served. There is a good chance that you may live on or near a college campus, and only through the party to be funny. Though the idea was humorous, you were the people who everyone locked up in their homes looked down upon since you were not following quarantine guidelines.

2. Bud Light

If your quarantine drink of choice was a Bud Light you are a laid back person. You enjoy the simpler things in life. You are probably easily pleased. Your ideal night would be hanging out with your closest buddies, watching sports, and cracking open a cold Bud Light. You were deeply saddened by the fact that professional and college sports were canceled or delayed. That was your form of entertainment, and what got you through the workweek. March Madness getting canceled hurt more than you would like to admit. During these dark times, you had no choice but to turn to the only thing that remained the same in your life, good old reliable Bud Light.  Your quarantine drink of choice reflects your loyal personality.

3. White Claw

If a White Claw was your quarantine drink of choice, there are a few reasons you chose this drink. If you drank White Claws prior to quarantine, then you are just continuing to support your favorite drink during these trying times. You were graciously helping to fund a company that may have been struggling. How generous of you. There is a good chance you were previously a beer drinker, and trying to switch to a “lighter” option. White Claws are only 100 calories. Through your rational drinking white claws will help keep the weight off during quarantine. Yes, White Claws are a lower calorie option, but drinking a whole twelve pack will still make you gain weight. The calories will catch up to you eventually.

4. High Noon

If you drink a High Noon as your quarantine drink of choice, you are elite. You prefer the finer things in life. High Noons is like the richer brother of White Claws. Essentially, High Noons are like fancier white claws. These types of people are the ones who get upset they cannot get a glass of wine at a bar. These people think they are classier than the rest. They purchase High Noons to seem fancier than the rest. High Noon has no problem charging ten dollars for a four-pack, just like these individuals have no problem filling a complaint to your manager. If your drink of choice is a High Noon, there is a high chance that your name is Karen. Not speaking for everyone who drinks High Noon, but some.

5. Wine

Wine is the quarantine drink of choice for people who had Zoom social distancing parties. These people receive a 10/10 for getting creative and finding a way to still carry on with their social lives in a safe manner. These people would go to a parking lot to meet their friends. The whole group would park their cars, open the trunks of their SUV, and sit in the back. The ultimate way to socialize, while still following quarantine guidelines. These individuals would bring a bottle of wine to these social distancing gatherings. Drink wine straight out of the bottle with a straw. Bringing a cup would be a waste. Most people drank gas station wine during the pandemic. If your quarantine drink of choice was wine and was more than five dollars a bottle you were doing it all wrong. If you plan to drink daily, make it cheap. If you will be drinking a lot, might as well save money and go with the gas station wine.

6. Margarita

Margaritas would be busted out solely on Taco Tuesday. Since nobody could go to their favorite Mexican restaurants, everyone began ordering food to go. It was during these rough times, that to go margaritas were invented. The best thing since sliced bread. To go margaritas have been a real game changer, and if you do not see how beneficial this is for our society you are wrong. To go margaritas have only positive effects. If you made your own margaritas at home, there is a good chance that the margaritas were insanely strong. Sometimes Mexican restaurants just do not put as much tequila in their mixes as we would prefer. Making margaritas at home, you can control the amount of alcohol in the drink.

Now that quarantine is over, for the most part, we can all resume our normal lives & drinking habits. Drinking any time of day is no longer an option.  It was fun while it lasted, but all good things must come to an end.
