Awesome Ways You Can Wear Mardi Gras Beads

Dont you love Mardi Gras?

The Christian holiday and popular cultural phenomenon dates back to thousands of years. It is also known as Carnival and celebrated in many countries around the world– mostly those with large Roman Catholic populations. I love Mardi Gras just as much as the rest of you but those beads, man can they be a burden!

Here are some Awesome Ways You Can Wear Mardi Gras Beads:

1) As a headband

I love headbands!! Sometimes, it is hard to find one that is unique as well as comfortable. With your Mardi Gras beads, you should consider making a headband. I would be careful if you decide to wear it with your hair down as it may tug and pull on your hair.

It is super easy:

All you have to do is tie or glue the beads in a circle about the size of your heads and then put it on! Please share this with me because I have tried it out and have actually loved it!

2) As a dress

If you really have no idea what to do with the thousands of colorful beads that you have gathered then you should try making a cute dress out of it.

This is a great idea, and it is definitely a Great Gatsby flapper vibe!

Start off by cutting the beads and aligning them by color on a dress that you already own. Glue them down with the tip so they can make noise when you move and dance around. I like this idea because it is unique and all the beads that you have gathered will be used all at once. If you prefer, you could make it into a skirt or crop top—let your imagination run wild!

3) As a belt

This may be a simple thing to do with your Mardi Gras beads but it definitely should be considered. Imagine how cool a twirled blue, green, and gold belt would look around some denim jeans. You can tie it if it’s too long or you can fix a clasp if you have the materials. You can make a really thick belt or one just out of a single bead. Again, the choice is yours, but you must at least do something other than tossing the beds in the back of your cabinet and forget about them.

4) As home decor

Go crazy with the Mardi Gras beads! Use them in every room and on every piece of furniture! HAHA, I am just kidding, you do not want your house to look like a Mardi Gras parade—unless you do, then go all out. Think about where you could add beads: on tabletops, on sofas, on the wall, in the kitchen, as decoration, and literally anywhere, You’d rather have them on display rather than in the back of your closet, right? No, well just re-use a couple of them and put them around your house to spice it up and make it look more like it deserves to be in a Mardi Gras parade.

5) As a chandelier

Chandeliers are cuteeeee! Cheap, affordable, and simple to make— you want a Mardi Gras beaded chandelier in your house. I would suggest being careful when you do this as it may tinker with the light system— so just be aware. It might take some time, but you can make it by gluing the beads on the lamp and letting it hang down. Consider making it different sized to have that 3D Mardi Gras look.

6) As wall art

I know that during this quarantine season we have been having a hard time remaining engaged and allowing our creativeness to take over. With these few suggestions, you will be able to feel like you have a new sense of spirit— your creativity will be reborn. I suggest going crazy, just gluing the beads in a specific order and then putting it up on the wall. You can try placing them in shapes or by colors. Whatever you decide, I just want you to have the freedom in letting your mind go down whatever path it chooses.

7) As some festive shoes

Do you feel like your shoes are ruined? Or, do you simply feel like your shoes need a bedazzle? Well, this is the perfect way to add an additional 4 years to your shoes’ life.

They down have to be as full-out as these! These look more like Aladin shoes than beaded Mardi Gras ones, but it is just an example! You should create what you want and not base your creativity on a picture-figure out what you like!

All you have to do is cut the beads off the necklace and glue them along the sole of your shoe. You can stick with one color, or go all out and use as many colors as you wish. This is perfect for high heels but could also work on sneakers. I love this idea and find it super original—no one else will have the same shoes as you— and that is a guarantee!

8) As a coaster

Seriously, you still have Mardi Gras beads leftover? Well, this one is for you! It’s a super cute idea to spice up any dining room and is a cheap way to decorate for any holiday! You will definitely give your wine glasses something special by giving them this special design.

I would suggest gluing the beads in a circle on a round piece of cardboard. You can either paint the cardboard or leave it as it is—the more of a design, the better, am I right?

Your wine glasses will be very happy and you will finally get rid of all the Mardi Gras beads you have.
