What To Do During The Semester Break
So it’s about that time of year when you’re halfway through your exams or they’ve finished and you’re wondering what to do next while waiting for the next semester of uni to begin. Unless you have work commitments, you’re going to find yourself with a lot of free time on your hands. semester break
Well, here are some suggestions and ideas that will help you to keep your leisure time on semester break occupied in a fun and exciting way!
1. Go to an escape room.
Escape rooms are a fun and intense way of keeping your mind alert and productive, especially when going with the right people. For those of you that aren’t familiar with what an escape room is, it’s basically a set of rooms that you are locked inside and to make your way out within the allotted time, you have to work as a team to solve puzzles and find clues. The puzzles and clues depend on what kind of escape room it is and what the theme is, but it’s guaranteed to be a memorable experience.
2. Have dinner and karaoke with your friends in the city!
If you know the right places to go to, your local city is a cultural hub filled with exotic food places to eat at (with my friends, it’s usually a new Korean Barbeque restaurant or a Japanese ramen place). Explore the city with your friends, find new places, experience new cuisines, and then top the day off with ear-drum shattering singing at karaoke. It’s good for the soul!

Not only will searching for any kind of work experience be helpful and productive in terms of your future, it is also capable of being exciting–so long as you enjoy doing what you love.
4. Learn a new skill or take a class.
There are so many other ways to develop important life skills without job hunting as well. Or maybe, you’re looking for a fun and relaxing time. Either way, taking a cooking class, learning a new language, dance lessons etc. are all fantastic ways of spending your holiday time. Maybe you can even bust out a few moves at the next party you go to!
5. Read a bestseller or watch a new show or movie!
There are literally so many brilliant and spectacular novels, TV shows, Netflix programmes, movies etc. to read/watch in all genres. It’s also an activity that requires almost no thought whatsoever. If you ever need to de-stress and calm yourself during the holidays, this is the best way to do it. So go to your nearest theatre, library, an outdoor or drive-in cinema, or stay in the comfort of your home and get to it!
