Tyabb is a small semi rural town in the Mornington Peninsula, an hour south of Melbourne. It’s just a stone’s throw from all the local beaches and hot spots the Mornington Peninsula has to offer. Although small, there is a still a treasure trove of activities and places to see that make this town charming and worth a visit.
Tyabb is home to a plethora of antique stores filled with vintage delights and quirky knick knacks. The Packing House just opposite Tyabb train station boasts 5000m2 of antiques, retro, vintage and old wares. Enjoy the free entry and peruse to your heart’s content.
At the back of the antique complex is Miss Drew’s Bakery & Dog Cafe. Don’t be mislead, this retro inspired kiosk is for dogs only. Buy your pooch a treat to take home or bring them along for a luxurious experience.
On Mornington-Tyabb road lies The Vintage Shed, another great find for vintage clothes shopping. Compliment your style with some quirky shades or vintage leather shoes, you’ll be sure to find something unique here.

Dotted along the path are information boards where you an learn about the Australian native birds that populate this thicket of bush land. The walk is especially peaceful and pretty on a crisp autumn day. The leaves are always a vibrant green and the birds chirp alongside you. The creek is enchanting and makes you feel adventurous if you dare to explore the belly of its deep ravines.
The smell of coffee hits you as soon as you walk in the door to this industrial inspired cafe. Surely enough, you will soon realise you want to try everything on the menu. From takeaway lunches to sweet treats, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Start at the Tyabb Oval and follow the path along Frankston-Flinders road though tall pine trees and soon you’ll end up at the Hastings Foreshore Reserve. You may even see some pelicans. Stop to pet some dogs too, there’s sure to be plenty around in the leash free area of the park.
