Being broke is an inevitable part of being a uni student. The number one motto of uni students all around the world is “The best things in life are free!” Fortunately, there are plenty of free activities and events around The University of South Australia. So keep reading for a list of 10 free things to do around the University of South Australia campuses!
(City East)
Both have free entry all day and both exhibit the best displays South Australia has to offer! So why not revisit your primary school excursion days and take a day-trip yourself in your break?
(All campuses)
There is a library at every UniSA campus and they all have a wide variety of books, both textbooks and novels. Book a study room for free with your student card and catch up on your readings or get onto that new book you’ve been wanting to read!
(Magill)
One thing the Magill campus boasts is the large lawn areas surrounding the creek. It is easily one of the most beautiful and tranquil campuses and many students like to take advantage of that by relaxing on the lawns. There’s even free hiring of picnic rugs on certain days!
(Magill)
Since Adelaide is surrounded by hills, there are some great lookout points all over the city. There’s a great one – Skye Lookout – about a ten-minute drive from the Magill campus that offers some great views of the cityscape at sunset and at night!
(City West)
The City West student lounge has some great (free) activities available to their students during uni hours. One of the best things about the student lounge is the cinema area where you can relax on one of the most comfiest chairs in the world and watch whatever’s playing on the big screen that day!
(Mawson Lakes, Magill)
Both the Mawson Lakes and Magill campuses have tennis courts either on campus or across the street so bring your own tennis racket and ball and spend an hour or two with a friend!
(Magill)
The student area in Building A has plenty of tables and chairs for studying but arguably the best thing about that area is the pool and ping-pong tables. Just hand in your student ID to the Aroma Café and you can borrow some pool cues, ping-pong rackets and balls and that three hour gap between your compulsory tutes will fly by.
(City East)
One of the highlights of South Australia is our Botanic Gardens located within walking distance of the City East campus. Spring is the perfect time to check out all the blossoming flora and set up a cute picnic with a few friends.
(Magill)
If you’re a sucker for the great outdoors, you’ll absolutely love this place. Just a five-minute drive from the Magill campus, you’ll find yourself fighting the urge to visit this beautiful walk every day after uni!
(On all campuses)
