10 Winter Accessories To Make You Feel Like The Queen Of Arendelle
Hi, I'm Kelsey! I'm studying a Bachelor of Arts at…
If you can’t wait for Frozen 2 to arrive at cinemas, these are the winter accessories for you. Slay like your favourite Ice Queen as soon as the chilly weather hits with these seasonal fashion tips.
1. Fur-Fringed Cape
The cold may have never bothered Elsa, but for those mere mortals out there not looking to get frost-bitten this Winter, a warm cape will be your best friend. Just like the fur-line collar Queen Elsa wears in ‘Olaf’s Frozen Adventure’, this cloak will keep out icy winds and snow flurries.

2. Thigh-High Boots
Taking a leaf out of Princess Anna’s book, long boots can help stop your toes falling off this winter. A deep wine shade is a cute throwback to the Arendelle princess’s crimson cloak, as well as on trend for 2019. They’re perfect for a night out, or as a dramatic winter accessory for your day-wear.

3. Hair Pins
Not everyone can get away with a shining coronation crown. Choose to hint at your royal nature instead with a different kind of hair accessory. Hair pins can be used to style your hair up into a sleek bun, or a to keep back the fly-aways in your thick braid. These star shaped winter accessories also resemble frosty snowflakes!

4. Gloves
Would our beloved Snow Queen go anywhere without her gloves? Neither should you. Winter accessories don’t come more functional than gloves, are there are so many different styles and colours to choose from (though you may be hard-pressed to find a magical pair made by “love-experts”). Black is always classic and hints back to the Snow-Queen’s villainous fairy-tale origins.

5. Royal Blue Purse
Cute purses and clutches are must-have winter-accessories. When Elsa’s not wearing her magical gloves, she needs a safe place to keep them. Purses are also great for storing all your essential winter needs, like reindeer carrots, anthologies of Hans Christian Anderson tales, and half-melted snowballs (for emergencies only).

6. Tights
The Frozen 2 trailer has revealed a few changes to Elsa’s iconic garb. For one, she’s wearing tights. If Elsa, Queen of Arendelle and winter accessories, can make stockings work, so can you. There are plenty of cute patterned varieties if you want to go function over form, or stick to basics and add some thermals to your outfit.

7. Belt
If you want to take more styling advice from the new and improved Arendelle heiress, Elsa’s new belt is a great way to accessorize. Belts can be thick, thin, or embellished if you really want to make a statement. You can layer belts over just about anything, and they will still flatter your waistline. If you want your belt to be more practical, find one that compliments your favourite pair of jeans.

8. Brooch
A cute throwback to the first film are brooches. Elsa doesn’t tend to wear a lot of jewellery (her icicle-laced dresses are blingy enough), but her coronation gown is complemented perfectly by a brooch. Brooches look great clasped at the collar of a blouse or coat but make for pretty scarf-embellishments as well. If you like vintage winter accessories, try cameo brooches.

9. Sleek Coat
The Snow-Queen’s outfits tend to oscillate between skin-tight or glamorously billowing behind her. This coat adheres to the former. A form-fitting coat will certainly hark back to her outfit in the latest trailer, as well as keep you warm this winter.

10. Drapey Scarf
Scarves are must-have in wintry weather. They can be styled to suit every outfit or weather pattern; but if you want to be especially reminiscent of Elsa’s silky blue cape, make sure to dramatically toss it over your shoulder every so often so that the wind makes it flutter like the swirling storm inside.
