10 Things That Will 100 Percent Happen To You At University of New South Wales
If there is one thing that university guarantees, it’s that students regardless of our backgrounds and upbringings, will be united in our ability to relate to each other’s experiences at university. These are some of the things that will 100% happen to you at University of New South Wales!
1. Signing up to join societies, events, and the gym at the beginning of the semester but not turning up to any of them.
Let’s be real, you won’t even be turning up to lectures by week 3.
2. Re-evaluating your life decisions on a night out as you think about the 5 assignments that you haven’t even started at home.
Usually happens when you’ve had a few too many drinks and the reality of how much work you have to complete finally settles in.
3. Sitting on the grass somewhere and accidentally getting extremely engrossed in watching someone eat their sandwich a few meters away.
What is that? Cheese and tomato?
4. Selecting your depressing playlist on the bus at 8:25am on a rainy day to make you sadder than you already are.
There is nothing better than bathing in your own self-pity and sorrow.

5. Laughing at a random YouTube video in your room at 2 in the morning with a half-written essay lost in the sea of tabs you have open on your laptop.
Did you know that the beluga whale can also be referred to as the sea canary as belugas are the most vocal of whales? I’m glad I watched a 50-minute documentary to learn that!
6. Debating whether it is worth filling out a 20-page survey and waiting in line to get a cold free hot dog or buying food with the three dollars you have at the bottom of your bag.
Sometimes, this can be the toughest decision you have to make at uni.
7. Needing to go to the toilet and having to think strategically about which way is the best way to avoid attention, make awkward eye contact with the lecturer and fall over 3 tables on your way out.
If I crawl under the tables and sprint, I think I can make it to the door.
8. Standing in a twenty-minute line to get your coffee when your tute starts in ten minutes and re-evaluating what your priorities are in life.
Let’s be real, coffee is always a priority. You will definitely need some caffeine to start your day at the University of New South Wales.
9. Aggressively scrolling through ASOS during a lecture because you just received an email telling you that they’re having a 70% off sale on everything online.
Who would have thought that you’d need a pair of 70’s styled flare jeans in your wardrobe?
10. Stressing out when you realize you didn’t pack your snacks and genuinely not knowing whether you will make it to the end of the day.
There is absolutely nothing worse than forgetting your Tiny Teddy’s at home.
