Stressful weeks are inevitable in life and knowing how to destress at the end of them can be difficult. Finding ways to wind down and relax after a long week is a must but don’t worry, we’ve got you. Whether you’re stressed because of work, school, or just life, these amazing ways to destress are sure to help you out.
Light a candle, slip into some comfy clothes, and read your favorite book or watch your favorite movie. Make the night all about you and do whatever you want. From painting your nails to eating a little more calories than you usually do, the world is your oyster. It’s important to make time for yourself and the things that make you happy even if they’re simple things. It can be hard to make time, but when you do, it makes a huge difference.
Stressing out is never good for you so doing all you can to relax and destress is crucial. You can even have a pampering night with your friends to put all your worries to rest. Wine, a good movie, and some ice cream and you’ve got yourself a quality night for destressing.
Meditation is a great way to relieve stress and relax you after a long week. Sometimes all you need to do is breathe and think about the past week. Meditation has been helping me a lot recently and making time to meditate after a long week gives me a sense of relief. You have to make sure you are letting yourself relax and not worrying too much.
Stress can really put a damper on the end of the week, making it hard to want to do anything. Meditation is easy and you choose how you want to do it and when. I would say meditation is one of the easiest ways to relieve stress and is great when you have a lot on your mind. The best part? You can meditate whenever and wherever you want.
I don’t know about you, but my friends have always made me feel better after a long and stressful week. This is my go-to plan whenever I feel that my week has been a little harder than usual or I just can’t get things off my mind. Hanging out with your friends is sure to make you feel better and gives you some quality time with them. Your free time at the end of the week should be used to do things you love and enjoy doing.
I know that I can’t wait to see my friends on my days off because they really lift my mood. They are reliable and are true friends, so it isn’t hard to decide whether or not to hang out with them. If you have quality friends in your life that make you feel good about yourself and show you a good time, let them be the ones to help you destress. I’m sure if you tell them you’ve had a stressful week they’ll step up and make your night amazing.
Exercising is an amazing way to destress and it makes you feel good too! I always turn to exercise when my days are long and when I have a ton of things on my mind. Focusing on something other than a busy day or week can help you put it in the past and move on. All around, exercising is great for your body and mind, making it a good idea anytime.
You can watch an exercise video online or even take a jog around the block. The options are endless and each and every one of them should help you feel better. Stress naturally releases during exercise and is replaced with relief. There is no better feeling than going to the gym after a stressful day and feeling SO much better after.
Make some crafts, draw, or immerse yourself in a hobby. Letting your mind become caught on something other than the week behind you is sure to make you feel better. The stress of the week has nothing against knitting a cute little hat for your cat. You can write in a journal and get all your thoughts and worries out on paper, taking them far away from your mind.
It is easy to get caught up in your daily life and not stop to just let all of your stress and anxiety go. You have to let yourself enjoy the other parts of your life and focus on that after you’ve been stressing about things. Creativity is the best thing to surround yourself with and to let yourself get lost in. And believe me, you’ll see a difference in the way you feel.
Adult coloring books have been my go-to recently so you should really check them out. I could sit for hours and wouldn’t even notice that it had been hours.
Put down your cellphone and leave it somewhere away from you for a couple hours. Unplugging for even a little bit can be beneficial and help your stress disburse. Checking your cellphone every 5 minutes is going to cause more stress than you would think. Being constantly on edge just waiting for that text or email to pop up can do the opposite of what you want. Unplugging from your cell can be beneficial in so many ways.
Taking time for yourself is the key to not being dragged down by stress. Keeping your cellphone close by constantly is always going to cause a little stress to flair up, especially if what comes up on your phone is upsetting. Setting your cell aside a couple times a week can truly make a difference in not only your week but in your life. It sounds difficult but believe me, you will notice a difference and truly be surprised.
