Amazing Hair Masks To Use While In Quarantine

With a lot of free time on your hands, why not put it to good use? Hair masks are great for when your hair needs a little extra shine, volume, or moisture. Give your locks a chance to heal with these easy DIY Hair masks that will give you something beneficial to do while quarantined.

Honey, Egg, And Apple Cider Vinegar

If you need to add some major moisture to your dry hair, this is the mask for you. For this easy mask you’ll need a single teaspoon of honey, 1 egg, and 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. For longer or thicker hair I suggest doubling the recipe to make sure it will cover all your hair.  Once applying, make sure all your hair is covered and leave on for 30-40 minutes before rinsing.

This mask is great for hydrating and nourishing with ingredients that can help bring life back to your hair that has seen better days. Make sure to shampoo and condition as usual after rinsing out the mask.

Cinnamon And Coconut Oil

Having trouble with hair growth? Give this mask a try. Cinnamon is known for helping blood circulation while coconut oil will really help hydrate and keep your scalp healthy. If you have trouble with the strength of your hair this mask can help with breakage and tearing. Mix together 2 ounces of melted coconut oil and 1/4 tablespoon of ground cinnamon.

30 to 45 minutes is all the time it takes for this mask to work its magic. Make sure the mixture is blended well before applying all over your scalp. I suggest massaging the scalp once the mixture is applied to really stimulate the hair follicles. Rinse and wash as usual.

Banana, Avocado, And Coconut Oil

Do you have overripe bananas that you aren’t sure what to do with? Try this moisturizing hair mask that helps prevent split ends and breakage.  Damaged hair benefits greatly from this mask, leaving it much stronger and shinier. Use one whole banana, 1 avocado, and 2 tablespoons of melted coconut oil for this mask.

Avocados and bananas are packed full of vitamins which aid hair growth and keep your hair feeling healthy and strong. The coconut oil is able to penetrate hair instead of just coating it like many products, making it a wonderful moisturizer. Leave the mask sit for 20-30 minutes and cover it with a plastic shower cap. Shampoo and condition after washing out the mask.

Sweet Potato, Honey, And Yogurt

Annoying frizzy hair will be a thing of the past once you use this moisture rich mask. The honey and sweet potatoes pack in the moisture while the yogurt removes any product buildup on your scalp. One half of a sweet potato, 3 tablespoons of honey, and 1/4 cup of yogurt are the only ingredients needed for this mask. Make sure to cook and mash the sweet potato before mixing it in.

Apply the concoction to damp hair and cover it with a plastic shower cap for 20 minutes. Make sure to thoroughly rinse the mask out of your hair. Say goodbye to your unwanted frizz and shampoo and condition as usual.

Egg Whites And Lemon

Say goodbye to oily hair after trying this mask out. Eggs have loads of vitamins, proteins, and fatty acids, making your hair shine. This natural conditioner will leave your hair feeling healthy and smooth. The lemon in this mask is used to suck up unwanted oil and grease (ew)!

Using a single egg and half of a lemon, mix the two ingredients in a small bowl before applying it generously to your hair. You can double of triple the amount depending on the thickness and length of your hair. This mask will also help reduce dandruff because of the anti-fungal properties in lemons. Let the mask soak in for 30-45 minutes before rinsing with shampoo and conditioner.

Brown Sugar And Olive Oil

If you are worried about buildup of oil and dead skin cells, this mask is also known to help exfoliate your scalp. Olive oil is the moisturizer in this recipe and will give you that shiny softness you’re looking for. Preventing breakage, frizz, and split ends is this hair masks specialty.

You’ll need 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and a single tablespoon of olive oil. Mix in a small bowl and apply from your scalp down to your ends. Make sure to massage the mixture to loosen any unwanted dead skin or oils. Rinse out the mask after 15-20 minutes and wash your hair well.

Argan Oil And Rosemary Oil

This is another hair mask that will help stimulate hair growth. This mixture isn’t as moisturizing as the previous masks but you could always add these oils onto your scalp after using a different mask. The goal of using these oils is to stimulate your hair follicles. Mix 3 tablespoons of argan oil and 6 drops of rosemary oil.

Apply this mixture to your scalp and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. After letting the ingredients absorb, rinse thoroughly and shampoo and condition as you normally would. Using a shower cap or a warm towel can also help the oils seep into the hair follicles.

Mayo And Eggs

This may be on of the grossest sounding hair masks but boy does it work! This mask will pack your hair full of moisture and leave it looking as shiny as ever. Mayonnaise is basically the perfect deep conditioner and when mixed with eggs, takes it to the next level. The yolks in eggs target dirt and remove it, leaving your hair feeling clean and fresh.

2 raw eggs and 5 tablespoons of mayonnaise need mixed in a small bowl for this recipe. Make sure to blend the ingredients well before applying a generous amount to your locks. Rinse the mask out with shampoo and conditioner after 25 minutes and enjoy your shiny moisture rich hair.
