Amazing Eateries In Nigeria For All You Traveling Foodies

Nigeria, one of the largest countries in Africa, is home to some of the best delicacies in the world. From the infamous local dishes, like Jollof rice, to the contemporary ones, Nigerian eateries are up to any task. I handpicked some amazing food places from 4 of the major cities in Nigeria, as they can be vouched for. Read below, and warning, you will salivate. Here are 10 amazing eateries in Nigeria.

JAZZ BY CHRYSALIS

The mix of modern and local is embodied completely in this place. As a sibling restaurant of Cafe Chrysalis, JBC serves continental dishes with uniqueness and one really gets in the moment as their surrounding is ever peaceful and lovely. Cuisines like burgers, crepes, intercontinental and Nigerian dishes are served there. They also have a bar and a lounge for small chill gatherings and it’s located at no 4, New GRA, ring road, Ibadan.

355 RESTAURANT AND LOUNGE

On the island of Lagos state, sits this beautiful restaurant and lounge. A mix of Mexican and intercontinental dishes, with an African flair in it. One major thing when you go on a food spree in a restaurant is the customer service and trust me, they top that. The waiters/waitresses make sure you get your orders on time and treat you with respect, and as they say, respect is reciprocal, so one has to treat them nice also. They also deliver and make sure your request is attended to, to the letter and it’s located at 9a, Oko-Awo Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

BUNGALOW RESTAURANT

This restaurant promotes diversity and taste. Taste in the sense of what they offer lol. From appetizers like bruschetta, calamari strips, pasta and seafood, to char-grilled steaks and hot dogs… Damn! Need I say more?! I will have to pause here and let you discover the rest. Located at no 9, Adekunle Fajuyi road, Ikeja, Lagos.

TERRA KULTURE FOOD LOUNGE

Besides the fact that there is a lovely sight of contemporary art just above the food lounge, Terra Kulture Food Lounge serves the best homemade Nigerian dishes coupled with intercontinental dishes. From jollof rice to pounded yam and efo riro, they usually advise guests, especially foreign guests, to always have a glass of water or Chapman beside them as they eat. The reason being because the food is usually spicy. Let me rephrase and say “spicy & adventurous.” You’ll find this spot located at Plot 1376, Tiamiyu Savage Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

BLUCABANA RESTAURANT

When Mediterranean meets intercontinental, you scream! But not literally. The scenery is life as they have food trucks, lovely dining that’s great for groups, kids, romance (all the lovey-dovey) and an outdoor seating arrangement. With a lovely atmosphere, food (and food again) you’ll find Blucabana located at Shehu Yaradua way, Mabushi, Abuja.

WIMPY RESTAURANT

This restaurant is Lebanese owned and they serve Chinese meals ranging from oriental dishes, to a bakery that supplies confectioneries. A very cool environment and involvement of entertainment, it’s located at the end of Onireke road, Ibadan.

KABACHI CHINESE RESTAURANT

If you crave Asian cuisines in Nigeria, this is your go to place. Kabachi Chinese fusion bistro serves Asian meals with a simple flair and fine dining. Peep their mantra- “Good food! Good people!” This one is located at the Ventura mall, Samonda, Ibadan. There really are so many amazing eateries in Nigeria!

PARIS BAKERY

Bonjour! Menu sil te plait? Lol… At Paris Bakery, they serve delicious bakery products coupled with a traditional French café packaging. On their menu is breakfast sandwiches, salads, savory crepes, paninis, desserts and beverages… to name a few. Bonne Repas’! Located beside first bank, Adeoyo junction, Ring Road, Ibadan, you’ll find just one of the many diverse eateries in Nigeria.

BROWN’S CAFÉ

Fondly known as Brown’s, they meet all refined tastes as they use freshly sourced, high quality, organic ingredients. Continental meets Nigerian here as smashed potatoes with crème fraiche syncs with The Big Nigerian on their menu, which consists of yam or plantain, served boiled or fried with corned beef and mildly spiced tomato fish or egg sauce. YUM! Culinary delights in all classic spheres.

Sad to stop here but I can’t take it anymore. I am officially overly hungry for these meals, all at once. Planning a trip to Nigeria and worried about the food aspect? Flush them worries down the drain as I give you the 10 AMAZING EATERIES IN NIGERIA!
