Although we can enjoy Starbucks year-round, something about their seasonal fall menu makes having your daily dose of caffeine extra enjoyable. Based on menus from previous years, here are eight amazing Starbucks drinks you should give a try this fall!
Fall is the season for chai! According to Starbucks, chai tea is the “perfect balance of sweet and spicy,” since it consists of “black tea infused with cinnamon, clove, and other spices…combined with steamed milk and topped with foam.” This amazing drink can be enjoyed hot or iced, year-round!
Only on their seasonal fall menu, Caramel Apple Spice tastes like fall in one sip. Apparently, it tastes like apple pie in a cup, since it consists of steamed apple juice, cinnamon dolce syrup, whipped cream, and caramel drizzle…perfect for those of you who have a sweet tooth! Enjoy this drink hot to keep warm on those chilly fall nights you haven’t gotten quite used to yet.
If you haven’t already noticed a pattern with fall flavors, caramel is one of them. The Salted Caramel Mocha is a luxurious treat, consisting of a combination of mocha and toffee nut syrup, whipped cream, and caramel drizzle, all topped off with Starbucks’ signature sea salt that only appears during the fall. One of the most loved seasonal drinks, you can order this year-round but unfortunately minus the sea salt.
Starbucks claims their Maple Pecan Latte is a “can’t-miss autumn latte,” meaning it’s a must-try for those who aren’t already obsessed with their fall menu! The Maple Pecan Latte is made by building Starbucks’ “rich espresso and steamed milk with notes of maple syrup, pecan, and brown butter, then [finished] with a beautiful sugar topping.” It definitely sounds like one of those decadent drinks you have to try at least once in your lifetime! Skip dessert and order this yummy Starbucks latte instead during a cold fall night.
For those of you who are lactose intolerant, you’re in luck because Apple Chai requires no milk or even milk substitutes! The Apple Chai drink is on Starbucks’ secret menu, so don’t be surprised if you’ve never heard of this fall must-try. It’s practically the same thing as the Chai tea latte but without any milk or water…just apple juice in their place! This drink is perfect for cold weather since the spice of chai tingles. Feel free to sip on Apple Chai as you’re relaxing inside, wrapped in blankets for warmth!
The Cinnamon Dolce Latte is perfect for the fall due to the cinnamon flavor, but can also be ordered all year! To make the Cinnamon Dolce Latte, Starbucks says they “add freshly steamed milk and cinnamon dolce flavored syrup to [their] classic espresso, then top it off with sweetened whipped cream and cinnamon dolce topping.” If you want to cut down on the calories, you can order a “Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte” that uses nonfat milk and a sugar-free cinnamon dolce flavored syrup with no whipped cream.
If you’re not a fan of caffeine, you can always order a hot chocolate at Starbucks! The added salted caramel flavor gives your hot chocolate a fall season twist. Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate is made by adding toffee nut and vanilla syrups, caramel sauce, turbinado sugar, and sea salt to the original hot chocolate drink. This drink won’t really give you an energy boost, but if you’re in the mood for something on the sweeter side to enjoy on a chilly day, this is the perfect treat for you!
The classic Pumpkin Spice Latte is a fan-favorite fall drink (almost cult-y) at Starbucks. For 15 years, the Pumpkin Spice Latte has dominated their fall menu and has cultivated a following every year. Made with “highlighted flavor notes of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove,” Starbucks goes above and beyond with the Pumpkin Spice Latte to make sure you’re tasting every classic fall flavor in one cup. While you might be labeled “basic” for getting this drink, who cares? It only comes around once a year, and it’s delicious!
