All Of The Best 90s Outfits You Can Still Wear Today
The 90s are making a huge comeback and you have to be ready for it! There’s just a huge resurgence with nostalgia and a lot of old fashion trends coming back from different eras. Now the clothes you used to tease your mom about wearing are clothes you’ll probably want to borrow from her if you want that vintage look. These outfits are going to give you the 90s look you want to achieve in the modern era.
High Waisted Mom Jeans and Tucked Shirt
This look is so easy to do and looks great on everyone! It’s one of the more casual outfits to wear when you want to emulate the 90s. Mom jeans are an easy find at any thrift store and you can buy an oversized tee-shirt while you’re there if you don’t already have one. Half tuck in your tee shirt to the jeans and accessorize with a belt and some sneakers. You can also style the mom jeans with a tight-fitting turtle neck tucked into them. Don’t forget to style your hair in the iconic side ponytail.
Plaid Blazer And Skirt Set
Live your true Cher moment with this adorable outfit. You can find plaid blazer and skirt sets online super easily now, minus the shoulder pads. This look is super cute and probably my personal favorite to wear. It’s one of the outfits that will make you feel as powerful as you look. Paid this look with a plain turtleneck and a simple chain. For shoes wear some Mary-Janes with some nude stockings.
Overalls and Sweater
Overalls are clothing that is making a comeback for sure especially when it comes to replicating 90s outfits. They are super cute and easy to wear. You can easily find overalls at a fair price at thrift stores or even in a lot of retail stores. Try and find overalls that are baggier to truly fit the 90s aesthetic. Pair the overalls with an oversized crew neck sweater for the overall baggy and casual look. Wear some chunky sneakers and your favorite fanny pack to complete this 90s outfit.
Suspender Dress and Long Sleeve
Just like anyone that wants to recreate 90s outfits one of the huge 90s style icons was Rachel Greene from Friends. The fashion girl herself had so many different outfits that any of them would make super 90s retro looks. One that is a classic Rachel Greene look is the suspender dress. There are two kinds of suspender dresses, one that has a flap similar to the look of overalls or the kind that is just a skirt with straps. Whichever you decide to wear you can pair both with a tight-fitting long sleeve top or a tight-fitting turtleneck top. You can accessorize with some heeled boots and a cute basic beret.
All Denim
One of the super popular 90s looks were all-denim outfits. Head to toe denim clothes. One of the most iconic looks done in all denim was Brittany and Justin’s famous red carpet outfits in all denim. You don’t have to go as hard as Brittany and Justin but you can dress in all denim. It can be a little difficult to find denim jackets and jeans that match in color but if you can that is always a really cool look. Wear that with a plain t-shirt underneath. Another version would be to wear them a nice denim dress with a long sleeve shirt under. Either way, denim is a print that is coming back and you can totally wear this look today.
Spaghetti Strap Dress Over Shirt
You can easily find spaghetti strap dresses in any retail store. This is one of the 90s outfits that is super cute to wear today. You can mix and match these dresses with different shirts to wear underneath them. One outfit you can wear is to find a spaghetti strap dress that is printed and then wear a basic top underneath it. Then you can also do the opposite which is getting a printed top and then wearing a basic spaghetti strap dress over top of it. Wear some chunky platforms with them and accessorize with a bucket hat and flashy belt.
Oversize Flannel and Tank Top
This 90s look is one of the outfits that are just super comfy to wear. This look is more reminiscent of the 90s grunge outfits. Flannels are super easy to find at thrift stores. If you are having a hard time finding oversized flannels then you can also shop in the men’s clothing section to find a good flannel in the oversized style. Pair the oversized flannel with a basic tank top tucked into some high waisted shorts or high waisted jeans. Just be sure to wear the oversized flannel shirt opened and not closed. Accessorize this with a chunky black belt and some platform boots.
Crop Top and Bell Bottoms
Although bell bottoms are a bit more 80s they were also popular in the 90s. Especially when wearing them with your favorite crop top. You can find bell-bottoms in thrift stores if you want authentic pieces from the era but there are also a lot of thrift stores that are bringing back bell-bottoms to their inventory. Match the bell bottoms with a bright crop top with a graphic on it or a long-sleeved crop top with flowy sleeves. There are lots of different ways to wear this look. Accessorize it with a printed bandana and some strappy sandals.
Mesh Top and Low Rise Jeans
I know low rise jeans are not the most popular at the moment because some people find them unflattering. Despite this, you can wear low rise jeans today. Match them with a mesh long sleeve top and a cute bralette underneath. Accessorize this with your favorite black choker and black sneakers.
