If you have wandered around a store looking for tan lotions, you have most likely noticed that there are a lot of them. Have you ever been curious to why there isn’t more natural self tanner brands? Me too. That is because there is an ingredient in most tan lotions called dihydroxyacetone (DHA) which allows you get a tan without exposing yourself to the sun and finding a lotion with this ingredient can surprisingly be very difficult. I don’t know about you, but I am a huge fan of finding the all natural products. I believe that they’re not only good for the environment, but for my body as well.
Before we begin, let’s talk about why you should use all natural self tanner brands.
If you have a self tanner at home, then you have it right in a cabinet or drawer in your house. When you need it or want to use it, you don’t have to walk far. You don’t have to go to a tanning salon or store to buy lotion because you have it.
If you don’t want to go on the beach and lay there for hours to get tan, then having a self tanner at home is perfect. They’re also safe to use because of the ingredients that the lotion has instead of your everyday convenience store bought ones which have a bunch of terrible ingredients that are not good to be used on your skin.
Yes, you read that correctly. Self tanners are easy to apply for anyone, even beginners like me. Whether it’s a liquid spray or lotion, you don’t have to wait long at all until you’re nice and tan and ready for the beach.
With three colors that are medium, dark and ultra dark, this natural self tanning lotion is apparently the worlds first anti-ageing, anti-cellulite self tan. It’s 100% Natural DHA and was created using unique Cellushape formula to not only hydrate, but firm the skin. Some of the key ingredients are: raw virgin coconuts along with botanicals and amino acids; natural antioxidants like mango, fig and cocoa which improve signs of aging; orange, lotus flower and mandarin oil to deeply nourish the skin and cocoa, banana and papaya which reduce uneven pigmentation and blurred skin imperfections. What I love about this brand is that it’s 100% vegan, isn’t sticky, doesn’t have a bad smell or leave streaks when applying it onto skin and it smells good because it has a Balinese Mango and Guava scent.
This is my favorite natural self tanner and if you haven’t tried it yet, then you better purchase it as soon as you can. This lotion is made from a blend of oils that not only nourish your skin, but give you that summer tan you have been wanting for a few months now. All you have to do is apply one layer and if it’s not dark enough, add one or two more layers until you get that deep bronze look you are looking for. Some of the key ingredients are: Organic Rose Hip Oil that regenerates and brightens the skin; Organic Mango Seed and Shea Butter which moisturizes your skin; Organic Sweet Almond and Coconut Oils that are the main base of this natural self tanner and lastly, a source of DHA from sugar beets which helps give you that natural tan.
Next on this list, we have Botanic Tree’ Self Tanning Lotion. It is vegan, made in the United States, and it’s cruelty free. Some of the main ingredients are: Shea Butter, Apricot, Avocado, Rosemary, Grape Seed, Linseed, Passionfruit, Moringa, Coconut and Vanilla. You don’t need a lot of this self tanner either as only a little goes a long way which I absolutely love. That means you won’t be running out and have to purchase a new bottle after one or two uses. This brand is also unscented and is free of Parabens, Sulfates and all of the tox ingredients no one wants on their skin.
One of my favorite natural skin tanner lotions is this one right here. Not only is it perfect for all skin types, but it’s easy to apply, non-sticky, drys quickly and is made with their signature Noni Extract, Rosehip, Sea Buckthorn Oils and Avocado Oil. Some facts about this natural self tanner: It’s certified organic by Cosmos, Climate Neutral, Cruelty Free, Vegan, No GMO’s (gross), No Artificial Colors and there is no artificial fragrance. If you want to put a natural self tanner on your skin during the summer, why not try this one?
If you have tried your fair share of self tanning lotions, then you know that a majority of them do not smell good. But guess what? This one does. With it’s hydrating coconut water and aloe juice to nourish your skin, it is a smell that you will want to never take off your skin. What I love about this product is that it’s vegan, gluten-free, cruelty-free, no GMO’s, synthetic-fragrance free and there is no formaldehyde. Win win!
At Ulta Beauty, they are all about conscious beauty. That’s why this product is vegan, has clean ingredients and is cruelty free. What I love about this self tanning lotion that it’s lightweight, so when you put it on, you don’t feel the heaviness of the lotion like you do with many other brands. Some of the key ingredients are: Hyaluronic Acid which provides hydration to your skin; Centella Asiatica Meristem Cell Culture which is from the Gotu Kola Plant that helps reduce signs of aging and lastly, DHA (that we have spoken about) which is derived from Sugar Beets and helps you give you that natural tan look! What is there not to love about this natural self tanning lotion?
