After College Struggle, Finding A Job That Will Pay The Bills

After college, graduating I would say is one of the difficult times in a young adults life, due to the simple fact that finding a job in their field.

2 Months Left Before Graduation

The last two months of school is when the pressure is really applied hard because you’re thinking about the direction that you want your life to go. Not realizing how fast the last two months go by is also stressful because you think that you will have some sort of time to figure the first is months of post-grad, but nope not at all.

I remember when I use to work retail and one of my co-workers told me that when he was about to graduate, he didn’t have anything planned after because it was hard to find a job in his field that would get him to the level that he wanted to be at by the age of 25.

He told me the only option that he had resulted in him working at retail until he was able to apply to jobs for his career, that would be willing to hire. The other frustration that he hit on was the fact that most fields require a year’s worth of experience and hiring an entry level candidate is not likely.

Thinking about your future

Usually, people start thinking about their life after college around the time they get into the second to last year in school. The last two years of your four-year education is critical for you to start to develop a game plan for yourself.

You should be setting up goals, long term and short term goals that you want to accomplish within a certain time frame. In doing this you give yourself time to rearrange somethings in your life that may be the limiting your progress.

Making Ends Meet

Making ends meet during the time when bills are due every first of the month is one stressful ass burden to have bearing on your shoulders. It is certainly not helpful and uplifting to students who are freshly out of college due to minimum wage and not the being given the financial support to help them on their feet.

In some instances, some students end up having to work little retail jobs, waitressing positions, or even become strippers to make money on the side. Struggling after college is no joke, and can often result in depression, and serious mental health.

Back-Up Plan

Having a backup plan should always be a priority especially living in the type of economy that we are in.  The purpose of a backup plan is to have something to fall back on when your first option falls through the roof.

Back up plans might include taking a class to become your own boss, being an entrenuper, taking lessons on how to make easy money on the sides, there are many different opportunities out there that you can fall back on.

There is always room for business, marketing in communications, tech-savvy people, the world never stops running on these type of businesses.

The Light

The light comes on when you understand that success comes with making moves and not being afraid to fail. But once you fail, its imperative that you don’t stay down, you pick yourself up and continue to move forward, continue to press on.

After college, yes you will struggle, yes you will have difficulty to pay bills, but don’t let that bring stump your growth and achieving the best version you can be.

After college is a struggle but it is not your final destination. Don’t let temporary struggle define your future. What’s your experience after graduating from college, let me know in the comments below?
