A Few Simple Tips To Living A Healthy Lifestyle

Living a healthy lifestyle can bring to mind many different things. Is it about being fit and eating healthy, or even being healthy mentally?

I’m no expert, but I believe that living a healthy lifestyle is a combination of being healthy mentally and physically, mind and body. But what does that mean and how does one do it?

Well, here’s a few simple tips that’ve helped me to live a healthy lifestyle. I hope they can help you too!

Healthy Living Physically Speaking…

Probably one of the first things that comes to your mind when you think about living a healthy lifestyle is to be healthy physically. This could be keeping in shape by any form of exercise or just getting your body moving in a healthy way every day!

It also encompasses eating healthy, listening to your body, and taking care of your overall wellness. Below are a few of my favorite tips that can help you to live a healthy lifestyle physically speaking!

Drink Enough Water

The first tip I can offer is to stay hydrated! Drinking enough water (about 2 liters) every day will help you to feel so much better all the time. It’s not only beneficial to your body, but it’s necessary for living a healthy lifestyle!

If you’re killing it in the gym and getting super sweaty, be sure to stay extra hydrated to replace the water your body is losing during your workout. This is also important when you’re out by the pool, at the beach, or really anytime at all!

Try to keep an earth friendly water bottle filled up and with you at all times so you can remember to keep drinking throughout the day.

Get Good Sleep

Next up is to get not only a sufficient amount of sleep, but a good night’s sleep. And I mean really good. Of course not every night will be like this, but there are some things you can do to make sure you’re sleeping the best you possibly can!

Try things like going to sleep early, having a good night time routine, being healthy mentally, eating healthy, etc. Not all of this will come easy, but your body will thank you when you treat it well and let it get enough time to recharge for every day!

Listen To Your Body & Move

Healthy living includes getting some good exercise! The great thing is that nowadays there’s so many different forms of exercises and workout classes you can try to find what’s best for you.

Just find something you like and stick to it. But don’t be afraid to change it up, there’s really no rules. Just move your body in some way every day and it’ll thank you in return!

Exercising every day, even if it’s just for a walk outside or a fun bike ride, will benefit your health in so many different ways! It’ll help you to be more resilient and it’ll also help your mental well-being.

Healthy Living Mentally Speaking…

Healthy living isn’t a destination, it’s a wonderful journey of taking care of your mind and body together! That’s where healthy living mentally speaking comes in.

It’s equally important to take care of your mental health as well as your physical health to truly live a healthy lifestyle! When you do this you’ll notice an overall difference in your quality of life.

You’ll go on a journey to be at peace with yourself and how you show up in each moment. You’ll go on a journey to better yourself, to be the best you that you can be!

Here’s a few tips I like to follow to help me pay attention to my mental health and to make sure I’m giving myself the love and care I need to live an overall healthy lifestyle.

Strive To Be The Best Version Of You And Accept Yourself

A big part of living a healthy lifestyle mentally speaking is to always strive to be the best version of you! You’re so incredible and unique just for how you’re showing up in this very moment… But you, me, and everyone can always work to be better!

It’s a balance to accept yourself now, but at the same time know that you can always be better for the next moment! Look at yourself honestly and speak truth into your life. Know how incredible you are and that you have the ability to change and transform into your best self more and more every single day!

That’s so freeing to know!

One think I like to do to help me become my best self is to journal…

Journaling

Like I said above, journaling is something I’ve learned that can help me so much with becoming the best me possible! Journaling can help you to sort out your feelings and find clarity in your mind and in your life.

When you start journaling it can also help to ask yourself questions about how you can be better. For example, I’ll ask myself “What do I want to minimize in my life?”, and “What do I want more of in my life?” I’ll also ask “what do I need to work on to be a better me?”

See Also

I’ll write the answers to those questions and writing them down helps me to visualize these goals and put them into action! I’ll also ask question about my goals, dreams, and how I can be a better sister, daughter, friend, girlfriend, stranger, student, etc.

It’s also good to recognize things that are incredible in your life, and things that you’re grateful for. Simply breathing and being here having the opportunity to live life and connect with others is something that we can all be grateful for!

Recognizing these things in your life can help you on your incredible journey of living a healthy lifestyle mentally and physically.

Speak Kindly To Yourself And Others, Share Love With All

Part of being healthy mentally is to speak kindly to yourself. I was recently in a spin class and the teacher said something like this, “If you spoke to your best friend the way that you speak to yourself every day, would he or she still be your best friend?”

Lots of times it’s easy to focus on the negatives and get down on ourselves, but why not focus on the positives! You’re so incredible and it’s crazy to think that there’s only one person in the entire world just like you. You are unique, and you have a purpose.

I once heard a quote that goes something like this: “No one thinks just like you, no one laughs just like you, no one looks just like you.”

You are so much more powerful, beautiful, strong, and capable than you think! Speak that truth into your life and see what beautiful things will unfold in your journey of living a healthy lifestyle.

Now… don’t just speak kindly to yourself. Speak kindly to everyone around you! Radiate love and positivity, and you can make such a wonderful difference in this world. Simply smiling at someone can change their entire day, if not their entire life!

Remember, it’s the little things that can sometimes make the biggest difference.

Connect With Others

The last tip I have to offer is to connect with others. This could be family, friends, or anyone in your life who you care about. It could be people you meet in passing or really anyone you come into contact with!

Show people you care. Show them love and kindness. Listen to people. Treating others with this kindness and communicating with them in a loving and understanding way can help everyone so much, including you!

Everyone deserves respect and kindness, and when you really connect with others you’ll find that it’s healing to your soul and they’ll feel the same way.

I hope these little tips will help you on your journey of living a healthy lifestyle. Let us know any tips you have in the comments below!
