A Day In The Life Of A UC Davis Student
Every day at Davis brings fresh faces, excitement, and challenges that vary from Aggie to Aggie. But whether you’ve only been here for two months or have made your home and are here to stay, keep reading to find out what a day in the life of a UC Davis student is really like!
Navigating Death Star!
Whether you’re just walking past on your way downtown or have classes here, every Aggie knows how hard it is to get through this labyrinthine building. Though, if you do get stuck in its confusing path of halls, at least you can admire the view of the campus from its upper levels.
Enjoying great food at Silo!
DC food just doesn’t cut it sometimes, delicious though it is. Perhaps you’re in a rush between classes, or you’re craving fast food. Every Davis student knows there’s lots of great food in the Silo, and it always manages to be packed, despite the construction – or maybe because of it?
Relaxing at Mondavi Center.
The Mondavi Center always has something fabulous to offer students, and is a great way to relax after a long week of classes. It’s also a great way to impress dates – beautiful music to share with a beautiful person!
Taking a nap in the quad.
Between midterms and study groups, club activities and raging parties, sometimes a student just needs a place to relax. Luckily, the quad always has hammocks that are great for studying in, or even just taking a nap… if you can get one, that is!
A trip to the bookstore.
No Aggie can get out of a trip to the bookstore every once in a while. Whether you need presents for friends or family, school supplies, or last minute textbooks, the Davis bookstore has you covered. Just make sure to give yourself plenty of time for when you go – you’re sure to get distracted by great products!
Working out at ARC.
Students can get busy with studying for classes and clubs, but the ARC is a great way to relax and work off some stress… or should I say work out? The Davis Activities and Recreational Center really lives up to its name with all the different programs it offers. You can sign up for a variety of different classes, go rock climbing, or just exercise with a couple of friends.
Cheering on the Mustangs at the Pavilion.
Whether you like playing sports or just want to cheer on your friends, going to the Pavilion is a great way for the UC Davis student to get involved with the athletic scene on campus. There’s always something going on in the Pavilion for everyone to enjoy, so it’s definitely a big part of Aggie lives.
Finding peace and quiet in the Arboretum.
Students may not come here every day, but the Arboretum is a great way to relax after midterms or find some peace and quiet before a big test. The soothing sounds of the river and the greenery all around can’t be beat.
Coffee and a snack at the CoHo.
All that work makes Aggies hungry, so going to the CoHo for a quick snack or a caffeine pick-me-up is a great option, one that most students take advantage of. The CoHo is easy to access too, since there are branches all throughout campus.
Hours spent studying in the library.
Whether there’s a big paper you need to print, some books you need to check out, or just a quiet space to read for that big test coming up, lots of students spend their time at the library between classes. It might be full of Aggies, but it’s as quiet as a library can be!
