The life of the college student can be stressful. Though it is a lot different than middle school, it is also similar. “Lizzie McGuire” tells the story of a college semester quite perfectly. Here’s a college semester “Lizzie McGuire” style.

1. Start of a semester after not setting an alarm during a break

Getting back into a routine after a break can be exhausting. You instantly regret signing up for 8 a.m. philosophy. This feeling can be applied for the whole semester.

2. Accepting the new semester and the promise it brings

After you get over the initial dread of the semester starting you begin to see the promise it holds. You vow to try new things and accomplish all of your goals.

3. Syllabus week

Syllabus week is arguably one of the worst weeks of the semester. Between awkward introductions and professors reading the syllabus verbatim, getting run over sounds appealing. At least the parties during this week are epic.

4. The exhaustion of the semester starts to kick in

Throughout the semester, the workload gets harder and the impending doom of midterms starts lingering. This time is tough and everything sucks to no end.

5. Midterms season at its finest

Midterms is one of the roughest times of the semester. Everything seems to build up and things appear to be falling apart.

6. Realizing your major is actually harder than you thought it would be

Or it is actually easy, but you find out there is nothing you can do with it. As soon as you think you have it figured out, things changed.

7. Trying to attend campus events for extra credit and free food

Do you have a professor that requires you to attend certain events or lectures on campus or offers extra credit for attending? Many of these events have free food, so at least they are not totally dreadful. I really wouldn’t complain about a college semester “Lizzie McGuire” style.

8. End of semester cramming

All semester, you put off work because “it was not due until the end of the semester.” Now that it is the end of the semester, you feel the procrastination pressure.

9. Finals season

The exhaustion of the semester kicks in. Instead of wanting to take finals and finish up final projects, you want to take all the naps.

10. End of the semester feedback forms OR yearbooks at the end of the semester

If you fill out student feedback forms, it is likely that unless you had an incredibly painful or insanely amazing experience in a class, this will be you. If your school gives out yearbooks to seniors, this is literally you.
