DIY Graphic Stencil Pillow
Graphic pillows always add a nice touch to a modern style room and can help spice up plain-colored pillows. This DIY is very easy, and since you use stencils, you don’t even have to worry if you have bad handwriting (like me). This is a really simple way to transfer your favorite quote to stylish accent piece for your living room, and you don’t have to spend a ton of money on a new throw pillow.
What you need for this tutorial is the pillow you want to stencil (or the fabric that you’ll put on the pillow), a pencil, a fabric marker in the color you want, and a letter stencil.
First, make sure to put the cardboard under your fabric so it won’t bleed through, and then you’ll start using a pencil to stencil in the words. Using a pencil before you go right into it with the marker is highly suggested so that way you can make sure that it all fits, and that you like the way it looks. If you don’t, you can erase it and do it over.
Once you’re satisfied with how the pencil sketch of it looks, go ahead with the marker. Wit and Whistle, where I got this tutorial from, suggests outline the letters using the stencil and then taking it away to color in the letters. I think this also is the best way, to make sure your lines are straight and everything and you don’t accidentally mess us when tracing over the pencil.
And once you’re done tracing and filling in all the letters, you’re done! Just find a couch or bed to put it on, and you’re all set!
