Everyone has different opinions when it comes to social media influencers, ranging from some saying that being an “infuencer” is not a real job, or makes people famous for doing nothing. Despite that this may be true for some social media stars, this list contains my favorite influencers, each for their own reason. When it comes to being a big influencer, what makes one stand out for others is their ability to relate to their audience and inspire fans by often interacting with them online or in person. These are both some social media influencers who are new to the attention and some who have been around longer.
1. Mikayla Nogueria
If you’re a frequent TikTok user like myself, the chances you’ve seen Mikayla Nogueria on your FYP are definitely high. She is most well known for her amazing makeup hacks, tips, and trying out new trending makeup products, then letting her followers in on her thoughts. In my opinion, Mikayla is one of the realest social media influencers out there on TikTok and Instagram, always adding a sense of humor to her makeup videos. Not to mention she also is great at doing makeup and from Massachusetts like myself. Mikayla has grown a huge following fast, attending several celebrity events and even collaborating with Kim Kardashian’s famous makeup artist Makeup By Mario. Mikayla is your go to person for advice on both high end and drugstore products.
2. Michaela Hedderman
Out of all the fashion influencers I’ve seen on social media, Michaela Hedderman is my favorite when it comes to how honest she is with her following. She is known for her exquisite style and amazing photo shoots showing off her latest fashion finds. If you are new to her page, you can expect to see many honest reviews on fashion brands and hauls showing off new pieces. One thing I love about her is her ability to naturally connect with fans, often allowing Instagram followers to ask any question they like when it comes to fashion, romantic advice, tips on being your most confident self, etc. and she tries to answer as many questions as possible. She is truly an icon when it comes to rocking elaborate fashion pieces, full of bold colors and crazy prints, with no shame or care about what others think while shooting.
3. Kevin Kodra
Another influencer who specializes in makeup tips is Kevin Kodra, who I first discovered on TikTok. I remember saving a video about contour hacks, always finding myself scrolling through his videos before applying my makeup. I have been doing makeup for quite some time now, but I always find new makeup hacks or new ways to apply products that I would have never thought of before. Kevin truly has a natural talent for knowing hacks on how to apply your everyday products to make them look 10 times better than before.
4. Halley Kate
I first discovered influencer Halley Kate on TikTok when one of her Amazon fashion hauls appeared on my FYP. I was instantly drawn to Halley’s videos, as I could relate to her as a college student around the same age as myself, also studying fashion. Halley has a great eye when it comes to styling, pairing together pieces in new ways I’m always dying to try out after watching any of her videos. Her following has recently grown, creating content about her everyday routines on topics like skincare, a day in the city, fitness, or a week in her life. She also makes many videos including thrift hauls, Amazon favorites, and how to style new pieces. Aside from her great tips, she also is super relatable when it comes to sharing stories as a college student.
5. Cirena Wilson
Cirena Wilson’s content first stood out to me when I saw her TikTok videos about dealing with guy problems that we all can relate to a little too well. The beauty bombshell also makes many fashion videos, showcasing new fits in her hauls. She also makes videos on things like horoscopes, hair and makeup, and body positivity. Cirena is another social media influencer who keeps it real all the time, making me always gravitate towards her content.
6. Keaton Milburn
Aside from some of the newer social media influencers I’ve grown to love, Keaton Milburn has been around a little longer, especially for me when I subscribed to her Youtube channel in high school. Keaton has been on social media for a while now, watching her grow from a college student in Alabama to now a graduate. Keaton’s humble personality and incredible fashion sense have led her to gain a large following, which I couldn’t be happier for. She even has her own streetwear brand with one of her best friends Nat, called Twinflames, which makes super trendy sweatshirts, sweatpants, and t-shirts for both men and women to wear. In addition to this, Keaton still makes Youtube videos including makeup tutorials, fashion hauls, and general advice videos for her subscribers to enjoy.
7. Maddison Steiner
Maddison Steiner is both very active on her Instagram and TikTok accounts, often creating fashion, makeup, and hair related videos. What makes Maddison stand out to me is how unapologetic she is when sharing her experiences about romantic relationships, being open about talking about sex, and always adding humor to her videos. Maddison’s multiple advice videos made followers often comment on how she should start a podcast, and she did just that. In 2021, Maddison created her Apple Podcast called Why You Mads where she speaks on behind the scenes of the social media world, dating, relationships, partying, addressing rumors, and more.
8. Gabrielle Alexis
The last one of my favorite social media influencers is Gabrielle Alexis who is very popular on TikTok. Gabrielle is widely known for her makeup videos. However, her makeup is not like other beauty gurus who go for more natural looks, as she is known for her creative, over the top makeup that is always precisely executed.
