Top 3 Products To Incorporate In To Your Skincare Routine

In the world of social media we are constantly seeing others with the ‘perfect’ skin and ‘perfect’ skincare routine and we sometimes wonder how we can get that for ourselves without having to break the bank because lets be honest, skincare is one of the most expensive industries out there. With moisturizers and toners ranging from $5 to  $300, that are branded to may or may not help you look 10 years older, we don’t want to just spend money for no reason, especially on something that is almost your whole paycheck. With fashion models such as Bella Hadid, to outstanding singers like Beyonce we are often left wondering what do they do when it comes to their skincare routine.

It’s not always easy finding the right skincare for you because we all have different skin types such as: Oily, combination, dry and even sensitive, and it is a lot harder to just pick up skincare if we’re on a tight budget or we don’t know how it is going to react with our skin type and that can lead to complete chaos. But with the items listed down below, they are known for being used on all types of skin, some even dermatologist recommended.

1. CeraVe

CeraVe is all the rave right now because of how wonderful and gentle of a product it is! It’s a foaming cleanser that doesn’t strip your skin leaving it feeling dry, and actually cleanses without disrupting the skin’s protective barrier which is what we want. It is important when having a skincare routine that you find products that protect your skin’s barrier because once the barrier is disrupted and damaged it can cause more harm than good and that is a big no-no. Not only that, but it is dermatologist recommended and can be used on normal-to-oily skin and contains niacinamide and ceramides which help calm. and moisturize irritated skin, as well as fight against acne.  The best part is that it’s around $10-$15 depending on the size you get and be found all most drug stores, as well as your local Walmart and Target.

2. Is it even skincare if it’s not Korean?

If you don’t have any Korean skincare products then you’re doing it all wrong. South Korea, known as the skincare capital of the world and beauty capital has a tremendous following because of how well their products are. South Koreans prioritize skincare starting at a very young age and it is ingrained in the culture with products that include snail slime, green tea, and red ginseng. LANEIGE ‘Lip Sleeping Mask’ is a product that should be in everyones bathroom, whether you’re a man or women, it does not matter! If you’re wondering what it is, it’s exactly what it sounds like — A sleeping mask, but for your lips. This skincare product typically gets left on your lips overnight and while you sleep you wake up to moisturized and super soft lips. If you’re the type that worries about their lips not being as soft as you want them, then this is the right skincare product for you. The best part? It comes in multiple fragrances that range from the original ‘Berry’ to their new ones, ‘Peppermint’ and ‘Gingersnap’  and is are of paragons and phthalates.

3. The gold of Africa

Now let’s be honest. Were you ever told that you shouldn’t use a thick moisturizer, or even a butter moisturizer in your skincare routine if you have oily skin? Well, I’m here to tell you that you can and should. Many people don’t know the many benefits shea butter. Shea butter is considered the gold of Africa because of it’s nutrients and because it has no chemicals whatsoever, and it doesn’t clog, dry out, or irritate your skin. It can also be used for all skin types which is a plus for many.

As someone who loves to keep their skincare routine to a minimum and has sensitive skin, shea butter is my Holy Grail! Not only does it make your skin smooth, but it also can tone it as well, and has been proven to have extensive anti-inflammatory properties, and anti-aging properties. We love that. I believe the best time to apply shea butter is at night time right before you go to bed since it can be a little greasy, but don’t get scared if you think it may be too greasy and might clog your pores because it’s not. Also, remember that a little goes a long way, so you don’t need to slather it on. Since shea butter is widely used, it can be bought at your local beauty supply store, or you can buy it at Walmart and Target as well for around $6. The only thing with buying from regular stores is that they may promote it for real shea butter with the only ingredient only being shea, so you should be careful. If you really want to go the extra mile, you can order shea butter from organic sites that will ship it to you straight from the Motherland itself. The only thing with this is that it can get a little pricy, but in my opinion it is worth it since I know for sure that it is the real deal.

It’s Your Choice!

Even though I’ve given you choices, it’s all about you and what you feel comfortable with. I know it’s hard living in an era where you must follow trends, but it is okay to not to. Not everyone has the same budget when it comes to purchasing certain items, nor is it necessary. If you’re 100% comfortable with the skincare products that you currently have in your collection, that’s perfectly fine! If you want to expand it, even better. At the end of the day, it’s your bank account, and your skin, no one else’s.
