10 Different Galantines Day Themes
Galantine’s Day is for gals and pals! All we have to say is thank you to Leslie Knope from the ever so famous Parks and Rec for bringing us this true gem of a holiday. It’s a true close second to national dog day. We salute you, Leslie. Anyways, Galantine’s day is the perfect excuse to get all your favorite ladies (or other pals) together and celebrate the love you have for one another. We’ve compiled 10 different themed Galantine’s Day themes that will do the trick if you’re planning your own little get together. And yes, wine is involved for all of them.
1. Photoshoot
You gotta twirl! Work it girl! If you know that movie reference, then we should be best friends because… ICONIC. What better way to celebrate your favorite pals then by throwing a little photoshoot night? There is so much flexibility when it comes to this theme because there are a lot of options in terms of outfits, backdrops, and props! You can go simple and create a simple photo booth against a wall or you can go all out and put a whole backdrop together. Chat with the girls and see what the vibe is. We’re excited to see what you come up with.
2. Anti-Valentine’s Day
Some years just aren’t for us. I think as a collective we can agree that 2020 sucked. We’re hoping that even though we’re single as a pringle this year that this anti-Valentine’s Galantine’s night will be just as spectacular. Make some bitter sweet treats with dark humored decorations and I say you have yourself an anti V-day party. You can even watch a dark slasher movie if that puts you in the mood.
3. Spa night
I think we have these about every other week, but still. Put on our comfy cozies and pull out your favorite mask because it’s self-care spa night. This is a more relaxed night that takes little to no prep. Light a few candles and get ready to take the rest of the night off with your favorite rom-com, a glass of wine and your ride or dies. Make the night extra special with all the bad for you snacks and matching jammies!
4. Wine Tasting
Time to let your charcuterie board skills shine. I know there is a lot of pressure when it comes to pretty cheese boards these days, but you can get reactive with it. You can also make a decent charcuterie board for under $20 bucks. Cheese board hack: Diversify your cheese! Always had soft and hard. Something strong and something milder. The little fruits and veggies matter. Pick things like olives that can add interest to the board along with larger fruits and veggies like finger cucumbers that you can stack and add height to the board. We can go on and on about cheese forever, but pair charcuterie with a medley of different wines. Have each guest bring their own bottles of wine and have your own wine tasting. You can even make it into a competition on who can build the best board based on their wine!
5. Game night
Ugh there isn’t anything better than a good old-fashioned game night. Don’t pull out the monopoly and Yahtzee just yet. There have been some fun games going around TikTok and now is a great time to put them to the test. PowerPoint night just might be the showstopper at the next party. Prior to the party, have your friends create PowerPoint presentations based upon various topics. They can be related to one another, or totally random. Some of our favorites are most likely to’s and anything related to pop culture trivia! Not interested in high energy games like flip cup and sharades, pull out those boxes from the basement and sent up a cozy table with cards and monopoly.
6. Pizza Night
We could insert another Lizzie McGuire quote in here, but we’ll spare you this time. This is such a fun way to celebrate Galantines day. Instead of slaving away in the kitchen while your friends are mingling or spending too much money on takeout, consider a pizza party. Stop at Trader Joe’s grab your veggies, meats, cheese and don’t forget the sauces. The great thing about pizza night is that everyone can make their own pie depending on their preferences. This is especially great if someone has a sensitive tummy or intolerances. It will be some more work for the oven and require a little bit of patience, but it will be well worth it. You can even cut a corner by purchasing premade dough!
7. Mimosa Brunch
I don’t think anything scream GIRLS than a bottomless mimosa brunch. Get the girls together for a cute and festive brunch! Either go out to your favorite spot or even host your very own! Breakfast food is easy and quick to whip up. Make it even easier and have each person bring a breakfast dish! Potluck style!
8. Bakeoff
Think Great British Bakeoff but less accent and more wine. Pick a Pinterest desert that requires some skill and creativity. You can either be on teams or perform singularly. Everyone bakes and decorates their own dessert. Winners get a gift card to coffee or lunch that everyone pitched in on.
9. Karaoke
Give the gals a microphone and a little alcohol and it’s over for everyone essentially. They make these nifty little karaoke microphones that are able to connect to your phones so you can karaoke any song like the Rockstar you are! Put on your Hannah Montana wig that you’ve had since the 5th grade and start running over your choreography. It’s time for a talent show. May the best woman win!
10. Paint Night
Call us Picasso! Just like all of your wine and paint nights, but in the comfort of your own home! Depending on where you are and how cold it is you could have any of these outside with the right set up. Turn your outside space (or kitchen table) into your very own art studio. You can find a ton of paintings to copy from on Pinterest or instagram. Glasses, wine and a little bit of good music is all you need to make this Galentine’s the best valentines you’ve ever had.
With a little bit of cash, some ideas from Pinterest and help for your favorite pals setting up a fun Galentine’s day party has never been easier. We hope these theme ideas get your creative juices flowing so you throw the best party ever. Remember that a handful of these ideas can be done over FaceTime or zoom to keep safe during Covid.
