5 Festive Holiday Makeup Looks To Try This Christmas

Playing with makeup can always make the holiday season feel a bit more festive. The holiday season is one of the most exciting times of the year. It’s a time for decorations, themed meals and desserts, and seasonal movies and songs. For such a festive holiday season, it’s the perfect time to get a bit dressed up and play around with some makeup. There are many directions you can go to create the perfect festive makeup look for Christmas time. If you’re stuck on what Christmas looks you want to rock this year, here is a list of festive makeup looks you can try to help you feel in the Christmas spirit.

Plum and Cranberry Eyeshadow With A Nude Lip

One of the most festive colors for the holiday season is a beautiful cranberry red, and that color will be the main focal point of this first holiday makeup look. For the eyeshadow, start by applying a neutral transition shade, a light to medium brown for example, to the crease, and blend with a fluffy brush using soft circular motions. After applying the transitional shade, take a lighter plum-magenta color and a smaller fluffy brush and blend the shade into your crease, but slightly lower than your transition shade to help build dimension. Finally, take that same small crease brush and take a dark plum purple and blend that into the outer edge of your eye and on your lower lash line. To add a pop of color to your look, take your brightest and most shimmery cranberry red shade and pick it up on either your finger or a flat eyeshadow brush. Spray the shade with setting spray and apply it to your eyelid, focusing on the center of your eye. If you want to add an extra shine, add a bit of cranberry glitter to your lid to make the center of your eye pop. To highlight your inner corner and your brow bone, take a champagne pink shade and apply it to your areas you want to brighten up a bit. Finish the eyelook with some winged eyeliner and mascara. For the rest of your face, apply a slightly rosier blush to your cheeks and match your face highlight with your inner corner highlight. Apply a pink-nude lipstick and lip gloss to your lips and finish off with setting spray.

Simple Golden Eyes And Red Lip

This makeup look is a staple festive makeup look, but with such a bold statement lip, you have to keep the eyes really simple. Start with a warm light brown transition shade and blend it though your crease. Afterwards, take a medium warm brown and blend it through the crease, slightly below the transition shade. Also blend this shade under your eyes, tight on the lower lashline. For the lid, take a bright gold shade and pack it on the lid with a flat eyeshadow brush or your finger. For a highlight, apply a pale gold shade to your inner corner and brow bone. Finish the look off with some eyeliner and mascara. For the rest of your face, try a bit of peach blush and a gold highlighter to match your eye look. Finish your makeup look with a bright matte lipstick and setting spray for a bold but simple Christmas look.

Dramatic Winged Eyeliner And A Metallic Dark Red Lip

If you want to make a simple but impactful statement with your festive makeup look, this is a great option. For pure simplicity, this look will not include any eyeshadow, simply apply an inner corner and brow bone highlight of your choice to add some dimension to your eye. For the winged eyeliner, take a liquid eyeliner pen or a gel eyeliner and draw a line across your upper lash line. Afterwards, make a diagonal line from the outer edge of your to the outer corner of your eyelid, making sure the line creates an extension of your lower lash line. Connect the line back with the original line you drew across your lash line and fill in the wing. Finish off the eye look with some mascara and some false eyelashes. For the rest of your face, add a rosy pink blush and a highlighter that matches your inner corner highlight. Finally, top it off with a metallic dark red liquid lipstick and some setting spray.

Grab a clean fluffy brush and blend out the edges of the eyeshadow using soft, circular motions until there are no more harsh edges. After blending out the matte red, grab a metallic red eyeshadow or glitter and pack it onto the center of your eyelid for a bit of a pop. On the inner corner and brow bone, add a light champagne shimmer shade to brighten up your look. Finish the eye look off with some eyeliner, mascara and false eyelashes. For the rest of your face, we’re going to keep it fairly simple. Use a bit of pale pink blush and a champagne highlighter on your face and a nude-pink lipstick and lip gloss. Finish off your look with some setting spray, and you’re set for a night of festivities.

Afterwards, take a medium warm brown and blend it through the crease, slightly below the transition shade. Spray the eyeshadow with setting spray to intensify the color. Afterwards, finish the eye look off with some brown eyeliner and black mascara.
