Minimal Makeup Looks That Will Give You A Natural Glow
Minimal makeup is trending hard right now, and many minimal looks can be more flattering and more comfortable than heavily applied makeup.
One of the most important steps toward achieving a natural glow involves applying moisture to your face daily in the form of glow serum, collagen serum, or any other illuminating serum that leaves your skin feeling hydrated and looking dewy. Another important step involves properly highlighting and contouring your face. For these looks, we’ll be focusing more on highlighting than contouring, so make sure you have a trusted serum and highlighter on hand before trying out these minimal makeup looks that will give you a natural glow!
Dewy glow and soft eye
For this look, apply a layer of glow serum or collagen serum as a primer. Then, add a very light layer of foundation to smooth your skin, and use a highlighter stick or powder to highlight your T-zone. Highlight the inner corner of each eye, apply a very thin layer of translucent powder or loose powder of your choice, and lightly apply some mascara to your upper and lower lashes. Complete the look by grooming your eyebrows and filling them in lightly (unless your brows are naturally thick). I recommend a lightweight lip gloss or a simple lip conditioner to achieve the subtle shine pictured below. Lastly, apply a few spritzes of a dewy setting spray to finalize this minimal look.
Dramatic eye
For this look, apply a light layer of foundation and a thin layer of blush or bronzer. Use a highlighter stick or powder to highlight your T-zone and inner corners of both eyes, then groom and fill in your eyebrows lightly if desired. Use your favorite color combination to give yourself a light smoky eye, but make sure your eye shadow doesn’t clash with your blush or bronzer. For a slightly more minimal look, skip the eyeliner and the falsies and instead opt for some thickening mascara on your upper and lower lashes. Apply a neutral lipstick or lightweight lip gloss, and finish with a few spritzes of a dewy setting spray.
Falsies and dark bottom lid
Take advantage of highlighting and contouring with this minimal look and skip the blush or bronzer altogether. First, apply a layer of glow serum or collagen serum as a primer. Apply a very light layer of foundation to smooth your skin, and use a highlighter stick or powder to highlight your T-zone. Highlight the inner corner of each eye, apply a very thin layer of translucent powder or loose powder of your choice, and apply a medium or dark brown eye shadow to your lower lash line. Groom your eyebrows and fill them in lightly, then secure some falsies to your upper lash line. Apply a neutral lipstick or lightweight lip gloss, and finish with a few spritzes of a dewy setting spray.
Bright eye shadow and bronzer
First, apply a very light layer of foundation, then dust your cheekbones with your favorite bronzer. Use a highlighter stick or powder to highlight your T-zone, then apply a very thin layer of translucent powder or loose powder of your choice. Apply a thin layer of your favorite bright eye shadow color, then darken toward the middle of each upper lid until you reach the desired opacity. Eyeliner on the upper lid is totally optional, and I recommend skipping the falsies to avoid taking away from the minimalism in this look. Opt for a few coats of mascara on your upper and lower lashes instead. Apply any cream lipstick or lightweight lip gloss that matches your bold eye shadow, and finish with a few spritzes of a dewy setting spray.
Falsies and blush
Skip the contour and opt for your favorite blush to recreate this minimal look. First, apply a layer of glow serum or collagen serum as a primer. Apply a very light layer of foundation to smooth your skin, and dust some blush onto your cheekbones. Use a highlighter stick or powder to highlight your T-zone and the inner corner of each eye, apply a very thin layer of translucent powder or loose powder of your choice, and apply a light eye shadow to your upper lid if desired. Groom your eyebrows, secure some falsies to your upper lash line, and lightly coat your upper and lower lashes with mascara. Apply any cream lipstick or lightweight lip gloss—or skip the lip altogether–and finish this minimal look with a dewy setting spray.
Luminescent glow
You’ll definitely need a liquid glow highlighter to get the most out of this look. As you can see in the picture below, this beautiful glow is stunning on its own. First, apply a layer of glow serum or collagen serum as a primer. If desired, apply a very light layer of foundation to smooth your skin, and use your liquid glow highlighter or stick to highlight your T-zone. You can lightly contour your cheekbones, jawline, and upper forehead to make the highlight pop even more, but this step can be skipped without sacrificing an amazing result. Highlight the inner corner of each eye, apply a very thin layer of translucent powder or loose powder of your choice if desired, and apply a quick coat of mascara to your upper and lower lashes. Apply a lightweight lip gloss or go au naturel, and finish with a few spritzes of a dewy setting spray.
Rosy tones
First, apply a very light layer of foundation, and brush some rosy blush onto your cheekbones. Use a highlighter stick or powder to highlight your T-zone and the inner corner of each eye, apply a very thin layer of translucent powder or loose powder of your choice, and apply a thin layer of the same blush to your upper eyelid. Groom your eyebrows and fill them in lightly if desired, then lightly coat your upper and lower lashes with mascara. Apply a lightweight lip gloss that’s either rosy pink or clear, and finalize this look with a dewy setting spray.
