Take a weekend to travel, give back to community or simply spend time with friends and family. These are just a few fun dates to try, if football doesn’t come back this fall!

1. Bob Ross Painting Party

If you don’t know who Bob Ross is, you’ve probably been living under a rock! He’s an amazing painter and human, who showed the world how to paint. This fall, turn a fun date into a Bob Ross painting party for all your friends. Think Painting With A Twist, but with “happy little trees”. Gather all the supplies you’ll need like oil paints, brushes, canvases, easels and paint knives. Set up an area where you can all paint comfortably. Finally, don’t forget to stream and display a Bob Ross episode, so you can follow along and paint!

There’s nothing more interesting than a couple issuing a challenge to each other. Sometimes, it’s all in good fun and other times it becomes super competitive. Besides, a little friendly rivalry, place a fun bet based on the challenge. Winner takes all, along with bragging rights after this date night.

3. Food Truck Rally

Finally, get the answer to the age old question of “Where do you want to eat tonight”? This fall, fun date allows you to eat to your heart’s desire. 5. Outdoor Home Movie

Most of us have only seen movies on the big screen or from the comfort of our own bed with favorite streaming devices. How would you like to experience an outdoor movie right at home? We know we would! Plan a little one on one time or make it a group outing with this fall fun date. Simply, buy a projector and stream your favorite movie onto a large flat surface. Don’t forget snacks and blankets to make it a super cozy evening.

6. Weekend Trip

If for some reason football doesn’t return this fall (gasp), many of you are going to suddenly find a lot of extra time on your hands. Well, this is the perfect time to take a weekend trip! Pack an overnight bag, jump into your car and drive. You can explore that little town you’ve always wanted to visit or maybe just look for a place to relax at for a few days. As fall gets closer, it brings cooler temperatures with it. This is actually a good thing because it means you can go on a fall color hike! This is basically a hike that allows you to look at the amazing changing color of leaves. Grab some friends and head out to the trails. Not only will the trail itself be amazing, but the views from the top will be fantastic. Snap a picture with the view in the background for an Insta worthy post.

8. Cider Mill Activities

It wouldn’t be fall, without this classic fun date. The cider mill is something that has to be done every year no matter what! Donuts, hayrides, and pumpkin picking. What else could you want? The cider mill is great for couples or girlfriend outings. Get dressed up super cute, take photos and remember how much you loved the cider mill as a kid. Plus, now you can stroll around with a cup of spiked cider, too. This makes everything a little bit better!

9. Sunflower Festival

Is there anything more beautiful than an entire field of sunflowers? The answer is no! This fall, why not attend a sunflower festival. Not only is the scenery stunning, but most have other activities going on as well. Stroll up and down the aisle of a craft fair while listening to live music. Pack a picnic, relax and people watch. It’s a great excuse to get out into nature and have a great laid back day! Sure beats being cooped up inside watching T.V. on a Saturday.

10. Farmer Markets

Instead of getting up early for tailgates, try getting up for farmer’s markets. They are such great place to get fresh food and entertainment. Make sure you get there early so you have the best selection of items. They tend to go fast depending on what you’re buying. You’ll be able to buy fresh produce, homemade food items and even crafts. Bring a basket/reusable bag with you because you are sure to find some treasures to fill it up with. Plus, you’re supporting local farmers and artisans, while getting quality items.

Everyone has a different opinion of haunted houses, but you can’t deny they make for a fun date! What better excuse to hang onto your crush or SO than walking (or running) through a haunted house. 12. Volunteer Day

If you needed the extra push to volunteer this fall, consider this it! When you might need something to fill in your suddenly empty Saturdays, pick a volunteer event to attend. There are literally so many variations and opportunities. Want to help others, go volunteer at the local soup kitchen. If animals are your passion, help at the kennels or an adoption event. No matter what you choose, know that someone else is benefiting from your time and commitment. If that’s not rewarding enough, than we don’t know what else is.

13. At Home Tailgate

When football is life, then it’s time for an at-home tailgate! Invite all your friends over for this fun date idea. Have everyone dress in their favorite team’s colors, or give them an option of choosing between two rivals. If you’re worried about cooking for a large group, consider making it a potluck affair. Don’t forget decorations! Not that everyone will appreciate them, but it sure does make everything more festive! Last but not least, play some touch football or have an old game on the TV for everyone to gather around.
