The Hottest Male Celebs On TV And In Movies
The hottest male celebs are the ones who have stolen our hearts in films and on television shows. Noteworthy more so for the characters they portray on screen and not just looks alone (all though it’s definitely a plus!) Read on for an inside look at our favorite male celebs and the roles that made us fall for them.
On Television:
Sam Hueghan, Outlander
Sam Hueghan is equally one of the hottest male celebs on television at the moment. Sam plays the dashing and rugged Scottish highlander Jamie Fraser on the television show Outlander, an adaption based on the books by Diana Gabaldon with the same name. Before Sam was Jamie, you might remember seeing this Scottish heartthrob in the Hallmark’s Channel original film, A Princess for Christmas. Sam appeared as Prince Ashton in the film and that role would later secure him a nomination for Most-Inspiring Performance in Television at the 20th Annual Grace Awards.
What makes Sam Hueghan one of the hottest male celebs on television is his role as Jamie Fraser in the hit Starz television show, Outlander. Jamie is dubbed the King of Men and for good reason. He is smart, funny, loyal, compassionate, strong, and a handsome red-headed Scot. It’s no wonder his love interest Claire Randall, played by Caitriona Balfe, falls so hard for the warrior and gives up life in the 20th century to be with him. Who wouldn’t? If you haven’t watched Outlander yet, you can catch up on seasons 1, 2, and 3 on Netflix. Season 5 has just been released on Starz!
Penn Badgley, You
Penn Badgley is an American actor and musician. He is best known for his role in Gossip Girl as Dan Humphrey. More recently you would have seen him on the Netflix show You, playing a love-obsessed stalker. Not only is Penn an amazing actor but he’s also a talented musician. He is the lead singer for a Brooklyn-based indie band, MOTHXR. The band debuted their first album in 2016, Centerfold.
Sad to report ladies that Penn Badgley is off the market. He is married to Domino Kirke, an English-American singer. The couple will soon become a family of four as the pair are expecting a baby later this year. Kirke has a child from a previous relationship who Badgley has gladly accepted as his own from day one. What a guy!
Henry Cavil, Witcher
Henry Cavil is a famous British actor. He began his career starring in The Count of Monte Cristo and later I Captured the Castle. He has since appeared in major films like Tristan and Isolde, Stardust, and Immortals. You might have even recognized him as the charming Charles Brandon in Showtime’s The Tudor or as Superman in the D.C films.
However, you have to see Cavil portray Geralt of Rivia in the new hit show, The Witcher on Netflix. I was a bit skeptical at first of the show. It seemed a little bit too dark and grotesque for my liking but after finally deciding to watch the first episode, I was hooked! It has its dark and climactic moments in the show but once I saw the long white locks of Henry Cavil with equally hypnotic glowing yellow orbs for eyes, I just had to keep going. I finished the whole first season in just 2 days and now joined with the rest of the world anticipating the release of season 2. *Sigh*
Sterling K.Brown, This is Us
Sterling K. Brown is one of the hottest male celebs on television due to his starring role on the popular television drama, This is Us. Sterling is originally from Missouri. He went to Stanford for his undergrad degree where he majored in acting and later attended New York University where he attained his master’s degree in Fine Arts. You can’t help but love a man dedicated to his craft!
As one-third of the big three, Brown continues to bring the fire in all his big emotional scenes. He plays Randall, the adopted brother of twins, Kate and Kevin. Just like his siblings, Randall is trying to navigate life while dealing with his mental health and striving to be the best husband, father, brother, and mayor of New Jersey. Randall is the glue that holds his family together. We can’t help but cheer on this #girldad as he battles all the obstacles that come his way!
In Film:
Noah Centineo, To All The Boys I Loved Before
Noah Centineo is handsome, funny, quirky, and charming. It’s no wonder why Lara Jean can’t help but to fall for him over and over again in the Netflix’s movie, To All The Boys I Loved Before. Before Noah was our beloved Peter Kavinsky, he had a few small roles on Disney’s Austin & Ally and Shake it Up. You might even recognize Centineo from the T.V. drama The Fosters where he played the role of Jesus Adams Foster.
Centineo might be the male version Molly Ringwald of our generation! Like Ringwald with her brat-pack films of the ’80s, Centineo has had back to back releases of teen comedies on Netflix the past two years starring as the lead male in, Sierra Burgess Is A Loser, The Perfect Date, and To All The Boys I loved Before series.
If you haven’t seen the YouTube interview with Noah Centineo answering questions while playing with puppies, go see it and thank me later!
Timothee Chalamet, Little Women
This next heartthrob is an American actor. He began his acting career in short films appearing in the T.V. drama Homeland. He made his feature film debut in Men, Women & Children and also Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. Timothee Chalamet shot to fame after the release of the romantic drama, Call Me By Your Name, where he played the lead role as Elio Pearlman. It is a beautiful coming of age story set in Crema, Italy.
In 2019, Chalamet once again graced the screen in the 7th film adaption of 1868 novel, Little Women. He plays the role of Laurie Laurence who for the majority of the time is pinning away for the affection of Jo March only to end up with her sister, yikes! At least family get-togethers will never be short of entertainment!
Adam Driver, Marriage Story
Adam Driver has been on my hottest male celebs list for a few years now since watching him star in his breakout role as the emotionally unstable Adam Sackler back in 2012 on the HBO show, Girls. It was this role that led to his Emmy nominations and cemented his status in Hollywood as a promising, upcoming actor. A year later, he co-starred alongside Harry Potter actor, Daniel Radcliffe, in the romantic comedy What If.
Following the success of his role as Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, we get to see Adam stretch himself emotionally in Marriage Story. The film follows a married couple who are going through a nasty coast to coast divorce. Driver’s impeccable delivery and perfectly timed wit shine throughout the film. He’s also not bad on the eyes either…
Lakeith Stanfield, The Photograph
Last but certainly not least is Lakeith Stanfield. Stanfield’s first role was in a film project at San Diego University called Short Term 12. This California native discovered his passion for acting at the age of 14 after joining his high school’s drama club. Since then he has been making waves in the film industry and starring in popular movies such as Get out, Knives Out, Selma, and Get Out Of Compton.
I recently watched Stanfield work the screen this past Valentine’s Day as I went to see the movie The Photograph starring Stanfield alongside his love interest in the film played by Issa Rae. The Photograph is a romantic drama in which journalist (Stanfield) investigates the life of a famous photographer who turns out to be his love interest’s mother. It’s a great film and one of the best black love stories recently released that doesn’t center on horrific violence or tragedy within the black community. It’s just wholesome love! Stanfield is like a jungle cat, so slick and smooth with his words that just like Issa Rae’s character, you can’t help but fall for him too.
