10 Places to Find Late Night Snacks in Boston

There are plenty of places to find late-night food in Boston, whether you’re coming down from a night out, searching for a second dinner, or just bored and looking for a new place to try. This list of restaurants compiles the 10 best places serving up delicious food for all your midnight cravings!

1. Yard House

It’s a classic in any city, but there’s something particularly special about Yard House near Fenway Park, especially right after a Red Sox game. The menu has pretty much any classic late-night food you can think of: nachos, wings, french fries. Not to mention the infamous Yard House beer selection. If you’re out with friends, or you didn’t manage to snag those tickets to the game, Yard House is the perfect place to slide into a booth, order the nachos to share, and watch the game on TV. It closes at 12:30 AM, so you definitely won’t miss out on any of the action.

2. Sausage Carts near Fenway Park

Picture it: it’s 2 AM and you’re stumbling down Lansdowne street after tearing it up on the dance floor all night. You’re wiped, yet craving a little something savory when suddenly the delicious smell of sausages and onions comes wafting down the street . . . How can you even resist? Fork over the last dollar bills in your wallet and treat yourself to the best late-night snack your city has to offer. And while you’re at it, take a moment to admire the city lights – and the love locks – from the David Ortiz Bridge on Brookline Ave.

3. Saus Boston

On Thursdays, Saus is open until midnight, and on Fridays and Saturdays, Saus Boston is open until 2:30 AM. You heard me, 2:30 AM! That means you could be eating poutine in the middle of the night. How amazing is that? Not only does Saus Boston offer up poutine (a Canadian concoction of French fries, gravy, and cheese curds), you’ll also find classic french fries, chicken sandwiches, or pulled pork sandwiches. And for those with a sweet tooth, why not get a waffle? Hey, anything can happen after hours.

4. Regina Pizzeria

Want to connect with your Italian roots? Go back to basics and get a slice from the famous Regina Pizzeria – the original is located in Boston’s North End! Pizza is good no matter what time, day or night, but there’s something truly magical about a cheesy pie in the wee hours of the morning. And it’s super affordable, so you won’t feel guilty about breaking the bank.

5. Uburger

UBurger is perfect for college students in the Fenway area because it’s located in Kenmore Square, so chances are it could be walking distance from your dorm or apartment. If you’ve got a late class or are just looking for a meal that doesn’t come from a dining hall, check this place out! You can build your own burger, chicken sandwich, or even a hot dog, if that’s your thing. And of course, there are fries and shakes. What more can we ask for?

6. Boston Shawarma

Who wants shawarma? We want shawarma, and we want it late at night. Boston Shawarma delivers with an array of shawarma sandwiches, plates, and salads. There’s also tabouleh, falafel, and kabobs! And no worries, vegetarians, I know we’ve been a little heavy with the meats so far, so this place also has quite the assortment of vegetarian options – and they’re not just salads! Hummus, grape leaves, hallumi cheese, these are all options at Boston Shawarma.

7. South Street Diner

Hold onto your hats, y’all. South Street Diner is open 24 hours. This place is truly one of a kind in Boston. It’s one of the originals for night life in the city, and it has been around long enough to see plenty of it. The diner was originally built in the ’40s for factory workers to eat after work, yet today it functions as a place the locals, tourists, and stars all flock to. It’s even been featured in a couple movies throughout the years. You can get breakfast or dinner at any time of day or night, and with a bit of luck, you could also see a celebrity.

8. Dumpling Cafe

Dumpling Cafe’s menu is sprawling with all the Chinese and Taiwanese food you could dream of. Noodles, fried rice, and dumplings, of course. They also offer a variety of bubble tea flavors. Plus, this restaurant is located in Chinatown, so you can also take a stroll and see the lanterns glow in the darkness. Dumpling Cafe is open til 2 AM every night, and they also do takeout, so if you don’t find yourself looking at lanterns and instead your latest Netflix binge has lead you into the wee hours of the morning, you can have a feast in the comfort of your own home.

9. Tavern in the Square

Technically located in Allston but still accessible via the T (that’s Boston’s subway system, for those who don’t know), Tavern in the Square offers both the classic and the unconventional for a bar and restaurant. Get a burger, or go for an eggplant stack, doused with marinara and mozzarella cheese. They also offer “small bites” such as fried pickle chips, guacamole, or truffle tots. It’s comfort food with a bit of a twist.

10. McDonalds

Hear me out. Have you ever had McDonalds late at night? Ever indulged in chicken nuggets and french fries after the clock has struck midnight? Entering a McDonalds after hours is an experience in and of itself. Honestly, the madness is kinda fun. And since you’ve just blown all your money on the Uber ride, the cover charge, and the overpriced drinks, at least you can take comfort in the fact that this snack will be cheap. Don’t knock it til you try it.
