Vacation Destinations You Need On Your Bucket List
Most people would agree that traveling is (or can be) a fantastic experience full of new people, sights, traditions, and activities. It can be difficult to decide on vacation destinations though since many people usually only have one, maybe two, time(s) per year that they have the opportunity to go somewhere, and they don’t want to waste their precious vacation time. Well, never fear, for based on extensive Instagram research, here are the top vacation destinations that you need to add to your bucket list.
For the History Buff: Luoyang, China
Known as one of the oldest cities in the world and the oldest city in China, Luoyang is full of rich history, making it a location to visit if history’s your jam. There are honestly so many cities in China to visit if you want to be in a site with lots of history: Xi’an, Hangzhou, Nanjing, and many more.
For the Floral Enthusiast: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Technically, you should visit Lisse, a town outside of the city of Amsterdam that’s known for the Keukenhof garden, home to millions of tulip bulbs that blossom in the spring. It really doesn’t get much better than this for a tulip-lover; there are over 800 different types that grow in the Keukenhof garden!
For the Daredevil: Arenal Volcano, Costa Rica
There are so many different activities in the area surrounding the Arenal volcano in Costa Rica for someone who loves a good adrenaline rush. You can go zip-lining through the forest canopy, hike an active volcano, rappel down a waterfall, go white-water rafting, and so many more things.
For the Beach-Lover: Grace Bay, Turks and Caicos Islands
Beach lovers would probably love Turks and Caicos in general, to be honest. Soft golden-white sand, clear turquoise water, gentle waves– what’s not to like? Grace Bay has got to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, though; the contrasting colors between the sand and water are absolutely gorgeous. It just makes you wish you were soaking in the sun with a piƱa colada in hand.
For the Explorer: Chilkoot Trail, US & Canada
You may have never heard of this trail, but it’s a gorgeous 33-mile hike that goes through Alaska and the Yukon Territory. The views are spectacular, and there’s even a large amount of history behind this trail. Prior to the Klondike Gold Rush, the Chilkoot trail was a Tlingit trade route, but once the gold rush was underway, the trail became a central path for stampeders. You might not find any gold at the end of the trail today, but the real gold lies in the views along the way.
For the Budding Photographer: Mykonos, Greece
Literally, every picture of Mykonos that I’ve ever seen is absolutely stunning. Naturally, people don’t tend to want to post or share photos that aren’t beautiful, but it can’t be difficult to take good pictures of a place that looks so gorgeous. Mykonos could be a great study in colors for someone who loves photography; just look at the vibrant blues and bright whites in this picture!
For the Snow Bunny: Mt. Norquay, Canada
You’ve probably heard of Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada, but close by to Banff and slightly less well-known is Mount Norquay. This is another ski destination that’s great for people itching to hit the slopes over vacation. You could even take an excursion and visit Banff for the Banff Mountain Film Festival in late October, then return to the Mt. Norquay slopes for less-populated areas to practice your own moves.
For the Luxury-Seeker: Victoria, Seychelles
An automatic spot that comes to mind when people think of luxurious vacations. Seychelles is a country composed of 115 small islands that are absolutely gorgeous. It was first claimed as a French colony but later taken over by the British who made it the location for African slaves, and Seychelles eventually won independence in 1976. It’s been the destination for many different celebrities, and if it’s good enough for Prince William and Princess Kate, then it’s probably good enough for any of us commoners.
