10 Hot Drink Recipes Perfect For A Chilly Fall Day

1. Peppermint Hot Chocolate
Ingredients:
Directions: Mix the powder and milk together in a pot. Once the powder is completely dissolved, add in the chocolate chips and crushed peppermint and stir for eight minutes or until the ingredients have melted. Bring the mixture to a boil and then remove the extra heat. Finally, pour the hot chocolate into mugs and add a little whip cream and some more crushed peppermint, and you have a delicious drink!

2. London Fog Tea
Ingredients: 2 earl grey tea bags, a quart of milk, sugar, vanilla extract, lavender.
Directions: Boil water and then add the earl grey tea bags (let these sit for about 5 minutes). Stream milk and then combine the boiled tea and stir. You’re finally going to want to add a splash of vanilla and some dried lavender flowers for an added kick. And there you have it…you have made yourself a toasty and refreshing hot beverage!
3. Salted Caramel Apple Cider
Ingredients: 4 cups of chilled apple cider, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/4 cup of caramel sauce, whipped cream, a dash of salt.
Directions: Combine apple cider and cinnamon in a medium pot. Let this mixture sit over low heat and stir in 1/4 cup caramel sauce. While this is happening, place whipped cream and salt in a bowl, and beat at high until getting a fluffy texture. Gently stir in about 2 tablespoons caramel sauce.
Once each of the tasks is complete, pour the cider into a mug and add in the white cream mixture. Now you have yourself a caramel and apple-filled drink that will satisfy all your fall tastebuds!

4. Ginger Honey Lemon Tea
Ingredients: 1-inch piece ginger root, peeled, 1 large strip lemon rind, 6 cups water, 1/3 cup honey, 1 lemon, juiced, 4 chamomile tea bags.
Directions: Cut up the ginger and heat it along with lemon rind, water, and honey to a boil in a small pot. Add lemon juice to hot water and transfer this mixture to a teapot, where you’re going to want to add the chamomile tea bags. Once the bags have sat for about five minutes, remove and pour the tea, and start sipping to warm yourself up!
5. Spiced Mulled Cider
Ingredients: 1/2 gallon of fresh, unfiltered apple cider, 1 orange, 12 whole cloves, 4 3-inch sticks of cinnamon, 15 allspice berries, 1/4 teaspoon of freshly ground nutmeg, 7 pods of cardamom.
Directions: Pour apple cider into a pot, cover, and turn the heat on medium-high. While cider is heating up, take a vegetable peeler and peel away some thick strips of peel from the orange. Place orange, orange peel strips, the remaining cloves, and the rest of the ingredients into the pot with the cider.
Keep covered and heat the mulled cider mixture to a simmer and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 20 minutes on low heat and then strain the hot mulled cider away from the orange, cloves, and other spices. Add a cinnamon stick to each cup if desired and start sipping this beverage stat!

6. Champurrado
Ingredients:
Directions: Boil cinnamon stick, clove, and star anise in a pot. Remove from heat and allow spices to steep until the water is fragrant about 10 minutes and strain. Heat milk, chocolate, and pinole in another pot over medium heat, stirring until chocolate is dissolved and liquid is thickened about 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and add piloncillo; let the mixture rest until sugar is mixed. Then pour cinnamon water into the chocolate mixture and stir to combine. Finally, you have yourself a nice hot cup of champurrado!
7. Chamomile Tea Latte
Ingredients: 8 oz water, 3 chamomile tea bags, 1/4 cup of milk, 2 tablespoons of honey.
Directions: Boil water and let tea bags sit for about 5 minutes. Then add in the milk and honey, and let sit until you see froth. Lastly, pour the drink into cups and serve. You can add a little ginger on top if you like. Once you’re done, this latte will warm you up and heal your soul!
