Another great thing about getting a flannel shirt that is vintage or from a thrift shop is that it will be worn down, so it will be thinner. If you are a little nervous about styling flannel, layering it is a great way to start. Throw it underneath a denim jacket, leather jacket, or any other jacket of your choosing. If you want a little more of a preppy look you can wear it underneath a knitted jumper and expose the collar. As long as the colour is muted you won’t feel so self-conscious, especially if you are a little nervous to wear flannel.
