We’ve all been there, you get back from class and you feel like you might die you’re so hungry but you have no snacks in your dorm. These staple food items are things you should have in your room at ALL times, no if’s and’s or but’s. If you have these stashed in your room, you’ll never have an empty stomach or a frown on your face, so get shopping!

Are you really surprised that this is the pinnacle of dorm food? This magnificent powerhouse of a snack has been around for millennia and has helped starving college students survive for ages. The simplicity of ramen noodles in unmatched. Boil some water, slap them in, or if you’re feeling really lazy, just munch on the uncooked noodles.

Either way, this tasty snack is one of the all-time staple food items that no student should go without. Plus they’re only about 30 cents a pack… how can you complain?

Whether you’re looking for a quick meal in the morning before you head out, or a late-night snack to fill you up before bed, protein bars have got you covered. They’re quick, they’re easy, and if you find the right brand they’re delicious. Packed with protein, they’ll give you the nutrients you need to start your day or refuel after a long study sesh.

Clif bars are probably your best bet if you’re looking for the perfect combo of flavor and flavor options. Although whatever brand you go to for these, you can’t go wrong. They’re also a great snack to munch on to keep your hunger tamed during those grueling three-hour lectures…

A drink to hydrate after the gym, to cure a nasty hangover, or to use as a chaser for your dorm parties, Gatorade will never let you down. This electrolyte packed sports drink is one of the best staple food items that your mini-fridge should be packed with. Energy drinks are a cramming student’s best friend. It’s 10:45 pm and you have a paper you haven’t started yet due at midnight, we’ve all been there. Slam back a Red Bull or two and get typing. Whether it’s the placebo of drinking an energy drink or the insanely high amount of caffeine that’s pumped into those things, energy drinks get the work done!
